Abstract: A computer-implemented method for delivering arrival guidance comprising of receiving inputs defining a destination point of interest (POI). The method includes determining whether the destination POI has a parent-child POI relationship with respect to a second POI. The method further includes outputting guidance at a predetermined distance from the destination POI, wherein the guidance comprises a notification concerning the parent-child relationship between the destination POI and the second POI.
Abstract: A flush door handle includes a powered actuator that shifts the handle from a fully retracted position to an intermediate position. A user can then grasp the handle, and pull the handle to a fully open position to thereby unlatch the door latch. After a user releases the handle, it shifts to a closed position due to spring force or a powered actuator. The door latch may also comprise a fully powered version wherein the handle shifts from a closed position to an open position, and a powered door latch releases the door latch if predefined conditions are detected.
Abstract: A vehicle seat interface assembly having a track including a web having a substantially uniform thickness and one of a key and a key slot. A seat bracket is operably connected with a vehicle seat. The seat bracket includes a support that has the other of the key and the key slot disposed thereon. The key includes first and second side portions. The space defined between the first side portion and the support is greater than the thickness of the web. The space defined between the second side portion and the support is less than the thickness of the web, such that the key may be inserted into the key slot and laterally translated until the web is frictionally secured between the second side portion and the support.

Abstract: A reservoir-less power steering system having a hydraulic pump, a storage tube, a steering gear assembly, and a return line. The storage tube accommodates and provides hydraulic fluid to the hydraulic pump. Further, the hydraulic pump increases the hydraulic fluid pressure and transfers the pressurized hydraulic fluid to the steering gear assembly. A return line is connected to the steering gear assembly and coupled to the storage tube for returning the hydraulic fluid from the steering gear assembly to the hydraulic pump. Moreover, the storage tube extends upwards from the hydraulic pump to include a hydraulic fluid level measurement assembly.
Abstract: The application describes a system for an engine comprising a direct injection nozzle for injecting gaseous fuel into a cylinder of an engine in a second operating mode; an intake injection nozzle for injecting liquid fuel into an intake port of the engine in a first operating mode; and a valve gear suitable to adjust timing of opening and closing of an inlet valve. Preferential injection of a gaseous fuel such as compressed natural gas directly into the cylinder increases efficiency and allows for reduced heat exposure to the lesser used liquid gas injectors mounted in the intake port, reducing coking of these injectors.

Abstract: A regeneration method (10) for regenerating an adsorber (19), connected downstream of an internal combustion engine (13), of a motor vehicle (11) with a hybrid drive train is described. The internal combustion engine (13) is operated in a phase of rich combustion for regeneration of the adsorber (19). According to the description, an engine load (30) and/or an engine rotational speed (31) of the internal combustion engine (13) for the rich combustion is influenced by means of an electric machine (14) which can be coupled mechanically to the internal combustion engine (13).

Abstract: A heat transfer system is provided for a road vehicle having a passenger cabin. A primary branch includes a primary pump and a primary power plant. An auxiliary branch includes an auxiliary coolant pump, an auxiliary heat source, and a cabin heat exchanger. A thermostatic multi-way valve directs coolant from a valve inlet to substantially only a first valve outlet when receiving coolant below a first temperature. The valve directs coolant from the valve inlet to substantially only a second valve outlet when receiving coolant above a second temperature. The valve inlet is coupled to receive coolant from either the primary branch or the auxiliary branch. The first valve outlet is configured to return coolant to the same branch as is connected to the valve inlet. The second valve outlet is configured to direct coolant to the other branch to which the valve inlet is not connected.
Abstract: Embodiments for monitoring fuel system degradation are provided. In one example, a method for a vehicle comprises evacuating fuel from a first fuel tank to a second fuel tank, and indicating fuel system degradation in response to a change in fuel system pressure following the evacuation of fuel. In this way, fuel system degradation may be indicated without use of a separate pressure building device.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a flame-resistant composition, a fiber-reinforced polyurethane composite comprising the flame-resistant composition and the use thereof. In particular, the invention describes a flame-resistant polyurethane-composite forming composition and a combustion-modified, fiber-reinforced polyurethane composite comprising the flame-resistant polyurethane-composite forming composition, for applications in vehicles and for building products. The invention also describes a long-fiber injection molding process for the preparation of the combustion-modified, fiber-reinforced polyurethane composite. The fiber-reinforced polyurethane composite of the invention show improved fire-reaction behaviour, measured as Limiting Oxygen Index (LOI), and a reduced smoke production.
Abstract: An automatic transmission pump assembly includes a torque converter housing and pinion that rotate about a first axis, an idler engaged with the pinion, a gear engaged with the idler, shaft secured to the gear, and a pump rotor secured to the shaft and that rotates about a second axis offset from the first axis.

Abstract: Methods and systems for controlling and/or diagnosing an emission control system of a vehicle having a first SCR region upstream of a second SCR region are provided herein. One exemplary method includes, indicating degradation based on a first SCR region performance during a first condition; and indicating degradation based on a second SCR region performance during a second condition, the first condition different than the second condition. In this way, different levels of degradation among different SCR regions may be used to indicate emissions levels have increased above a threshold value, for example.

Abstract: Various methods for controlling a wastegate with an electric actuator including a bias are provided. In one example, the actuator is supplied with a first current when moving a wastegate valve toward a fully open position, and is supplied with a second current when moving a wastegate toward a fully closed position. The methods may ensure appropriate supply of boost to an engine even in the event of wastegate degradation while enabling engine downsizing.

Abstract: A method for generating a temperature map of the vehicle evaporator core is provided using an active thermocouple array sensor. The active thermocouple array sensor is attached to the HVAC enclosure and is positioned to read the temperature at multiple locations across the evaporator core. A controller generates a temperature map using data collected from the evaporator core by the active thermocouple array sensor. The temperature map facilitates optimization of the evaporator core temperature by the controller.
Abstract: A vehicle cabin pressure relief device is provided having a base layer defining an aperture, a retainer layer disposed on the base layer; and a sealing member. The sealing member further includes a first portion and a second portion extending from the first portion, wherein the second portion of the sealing member is sandwiched between the base layer and the retainer layer. The first portion is also displaceable relative to the base layer, and covers a portion of the aperture in a closed first position.
Abstract: Embodiments in accordance with the present disclosure may provide a camshaft having a central oil passage and a radial passage to supply oil from the central passage to a bearing surface. The camshaft may include a filter disposed within the central passage which may allow oil to pass through the radial passage to the bearing surface, and which may prevent particles larger than a predetermined size to pass to the bearing surface.
Abstract: A method of balancing a crankshaft includes connecting a torsion-absorbing pendulum to a cheek of the crankshaft, which is coupled to a crankpin. As the pendulum connected to the cheek has insufficient mass to balance the crankshaft, a lightening bore is formed through a bisection plane of the cheek. In forming the lightening bore, enough material is removed from the cheek so that the mass of the pendulum becomes sufficient to balance the crankshaft.
