Patent number: 7762913Abstract: A truncated bat training device provides for training of the muscles and muscular strengthening of certain parts of the trainee's body. The bat has a 45 degree angle portion with a rotatable D-ring for attaching the bat to a fixed point. The angle portion projects to the backside of the upper body of the trainee and is turned toward the fixed point when the trainee swings the bat in a backward motion of a swing cycle in a resistance training mode. The angle portion provides a transition zone in which the D-ring rotates as the bat crosses perpendicular to the upper body allowing the trainee's wrist to accelerate with a ball at a simulated impact point where the trainee normally makes contact with the ball upon completion of the swing cycle. A ridge line teaches proper hand alignment, and several training techniques can be used with the training device.Type: GrantFiled: May 1, 2009Date of Patent: July 27, 2010Assignee: For You, Inc.Inventors: Garrett Brian Hagen, Brian F. Hagen, Theodore F. Cataldi, Jr.

Patent number: 7137171Abstract: A new and useful traverse rod structure, designed to maintain or improve the functionality of a traverse rod, while improving the aesthetics of the traverse rod is provided. The traverse rod is designed to improve the functionality of the rod, while minimizing the risk of damaging the aesthetic features of the traverse rod as the hanging object is manipulated. Still further, the traverse rod is designed with an attractive and aesthetic external appearance. In addition, the traverse rod is designed to be efficient to assemble and operate. In its preferred form, a traverse rod comprises (a) a longitudinally extending tube having an opening extending along the tube, (b) a longitudinally extending track located within the tube, the track comprising a pair of substantially co-planar track sections with a gap therebetween, and (c) one or more moveable carriers each of which is configured to engage a wall covering. Each moveable carrier has a follower extending through the opening in the tube.Type: GrantFiled: August 27, 2004Date of Patent: November 21, 2006Assignee: Exquisite Creations For You, Inc.Inventors: Sonja R. Patent number: 6884187Abstract: A throwing exercise apparatus using a sphere with an internal polar passageway to deliver end portions a non-elastic band of which one end portion circumscribes the outer surface of the sphere and extends to the other end portion where they are joined together by a fastener. The band is then joined by an elastic member to an anchor so that in use there is established a path of elastic resistance along a tangential line formed by the wrapped part of a strap mid portion in response to an applied force comprising both translation and rotational motions of the sphere. The motions of the sphere bring about rotation of the internal polar passage in an end-over-end fashion.Type: GrantFiled: March 1, 2003Date of Patent: April 26, 2005Assignee: For You, Inc.Inventors: Theodore F. Patent number: 6371614Abstract: Highly compact eyeglasses include a first lens portion and a second lens portion coupled via a bridge wire. Each lens portion includes an optical section, and may further include a transition section. The optical section may be characterized by a reference surface and an adjustment surface. From one pair of eyeglasses to another, the reference surface exhibits a constant curvature. The curvature of an adjustment surface is designed or chosen relative to the curvature of a reference surface to provide a lens portion associated with a particular overall dioptic power. The transition section may include a corrugation and/or a lip to aid in securing the glasses to a wearer's nose. The bridge wire serves as a type of spring that couples or interconnects the lens portions, where the spring includes and/or exhibits positional memory properties. The bridge wire may include bent or curved end segments, which may be embedded within the lens portions during a manufacturing process.Type: GrantFiled: June 22, 2000Date of Patent: April 16, 2002Assignee: Eyes For You, Inc.Inventor: Pat Herman

Patent number: 6117056Abstract: An exercise device attachable to the seat portion of a chair to resist forces applied in performing isotonic exercises. The device includes a strap securable to a chair and a seat pad positionable on the strap for supporting an exerciser and has D-rings secured to the strap and the seat pad for attachment of an elastic band for performing arm isotonic exercises with a hand band attachment. The device also includes a front flap securable at one end between the seat pad and strap and securable at an opposite end to a downwardly forward portion of the chair for performing leg isotonic exercises with an attached elastic band and an ankle strap attachment.Type: GrantFiled: April 22, 1999Date of Patent: September 12, 2000Assignee: For You, Inc.Inventors: Theodore F. Patent number: 5748280Abstract: Rimless eyeglasses having removable lenses. Each lens has a pair of bridge securing openings. The bridge is formed from a single wire. The single wire bridge is bent to form two c-shaped sections. Each c-shaped section is threaded through a respective lens, and ends of the bridge are inserted into one opening of the pairs of openings. A friction fitting secures an end of the bridge to a lens. Temples and nose pads are similarly secured to the eyeglasses. Each lens has a pair of openings for securing a temple and a pair of openings for securing a nose pad support. The temple has a c-shaped lens-securing member for engaging a pair of openings. A nose pad is mounted on the c-shaped nose pad support. The c-shaped nose pad support engages a pair of holes in the lens.Type: GrantFiled: September 30, 1996Date of Patent: May 5, 1998Assignee: Eyes For You Inc.Inventor: Pat Herman

Patent number: 4852873Abstract: An exercise device produced by a process, including oppositely disposed handle members having outer gripping portions and inner portions to which are attached flange members. An elastromeric middle member is molded at least over the flange members which connects the handle members into a unitary bar-like exercise device. The molding of the middle member encapsulates the flange members to provide a secure and non-releasable junction. The middle member, being deformable and twistable, allows many different types of exercise movements of the handle members. The middle member provides resistance to such deforming and twisting movements and also resiliently returns the handle members to an original position after deformation or twisting of the middle member. The invention can take on many shapes and forms. An alternative embodiment includes an elastomeric middle member which includes arms extending from oppsoite ends of the middle member.Type: GrantFiled: January 7, 1988Date of Patent: August 1, 1989Assignee: For You, Inc.Inventors: Jerry L.
