    Abstract: A dynamically deconstructable armrest for an automotive vehicle includes a number of walls extending from a mounting base so as to define a cavity within which arm contact member is seated. Compressive force directed laterally against at least one of the side walls and having a magnitude in excess for a predetermined threshold value will cause at least a portion of the arm contact member to become expelled from the cavity, so as to lessen the compressive strength of the armrest.
