Abstract: The present sweetener includes a scavenger system for removing hydrogen sulfide and/or mercaptan from a fluid gas stream and/or fluid liquid stream. The present sweetener comprises 1) 99.9 to 80 wt. % a scavenger system comprising 3 to 30% of at least one mixed acetal in at least one scavenger solvent and 2) 0.1 to 20 wt % of at least one oxidation inhibitor. The present sweetener reduced solids formation potential in the spent scavenger and/or increases performance.
Abstract: Hydrogen sulfide is removed from a gas stream by bubbling a gas stream having ?100 ppm hydrogen sulfide through a scavenging mixture. The scavenging mixture includes: 1) at least one sweetener selected from the group consisting of triazines, oxazolidines, hemiacetals, and mixtures thereof, and 2) at least one reaction catalyst selected from the group consisting of dipropyl amine (DPA), diethyl amine (DEA), dimethyl amine (DMA), pyrrole, and mixtures thereof. The scavenging mixture interacts with the hydrogen sulfide to produce a cleaned gas stream having ? 5 ppm hydrogen sulfide.

Abstract: An aminal compound is injected into a fluid gas stream including at least one acid gas to reduce the amount of acid gas in the fluid gas stream. Having two reactive sites present in the aminal compound enables a much higher efficiency of acid gas capture than a simple alkanolamine, which isn't effective, for example, under dilute circumstances.
Abstract: A solution including at least one mixed acetal compound is used to remove hydrogen sulfide and/or mercaptans from a fluid stream, preferably a fluid gas stream. A mixed acetal compound, as provided in the general structure below, includes an N-glycosidic type bond. The mixed acetal includes nitrogen and oxygen as provided below.
