Patent number: 9555610Abstract: An LED light bulb device that includes a bulb body, a plurality of flexible circuit strips, and at least one LED. The flexible circuit strips are formed to a shape of, and adhered directly to, an interior face of the bulb body. At least one of the flexible circuit strips defines a plurality of stress-relieving notches. At least one LED is mounted to a corresponding one of the flexible circuit strips and is electrically connected to a conductive trace formed by the flexible circuit strip. The LEDs are arranged to aim inwardly relative to the bulb body. In some embodiments, a rear surface of each of the flexible circuit strips is adhesively attached to the interior face of the bulb body. In some embodiments, a plurality of LEDs are provided and arranged to provide one or both of uniform light distribution and diverse heat distribution.Type: GrantFiled: March 10, 2015Date of Patent: January 31, 2017Assignee: Forever Bulb, LLCInventors: David W. Carroll, Wendell Carroll, Bruce Johnson

Publication number: 20140319002Abstract: A packaging assembly for packaging a light bulb device. The packaging assembly includes a package and a flexible ribbon. The package is sized and shape in accordance with a size and shape of at least one light bulb device. The flexible ribbon extends from the package and displays product information. In some embodiments, the package has a clamshell-like design, including first and second packaging sections connected at a hinge. In other embodiments, the package forms a first hanger hole and the ribbon forms a second hanger hole.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 29, 2014Publication date: October 30, 2014Applicant: Forever Bulb, LLCInventors: David W. Patent number: 8860289Abstract: An LED light bulb device including a bulb body, heat sink stems and LEDs. The bulb body defines an exterior and an interior region. The heat sink stems are discrete from one another and extend along the bulb body in a circumferentially spaced fashion. A first LED is directly supported by the first heat sink stem, and a second LED is directly supported by the second heat sink stem. Light from the LEDs is directed inwardly into the interior region and then outwardly from the interior region.Type: GrantFiled: April 16, 2013Date of Patent: October 14, 2014Assignee: Forever Bulb, LLCInventors: David W. Carroll, Wendell L. Carroll

Patent number: 8421322Abstract: An LED light bulb device including a bulb body, a cap and an LED assembly. The bulb body defines an exterior surface and an interior. The cap is mounted to the bulb body, combining to define a light bulb-like structure. The LED assembly includes a substrate, LEDs, transformer circuitry and connective circuitry. The LEDs and the connective circuitry are maintained by the substrate, with the connective circuitry electrically connecting the LEDs and the transformer circuitry. The transformer circuitry is adapted to modify incoming power for powering the LEDs. The LED assembly is mounted to the light bulb-like structure such that the LEDs are disposed along the exterior surface of the bulb body, with light from the LEDs being directed inwardly into the interior and then outwardly from the interior. The LED assembly can further include a heat sink body encompassing the LEDs.Type: GrantFiled: September 6, 2011Date of Patent: April 16, 2013Assignee: Forever Bulb, LLCInventors: David W. Carroll, Wendell L. Carroll

Patent number: 8371722Abstract: An LED light bulb device including a bulb body, a cap, an LED assembly, and first and second light affecting features. The cap is mounted to the bulb body for connection to an electrical socket. The LED assembly includes a plurality of LEDs and framework. The framework maintains the LEDs relative to the bulb body such that emitted light is directed at an LED region of the wall. The first light affecting feature is associated with the LED region of the wall, whereas the second light affecting feature is associated with a diffusion region of the wall, with the diffusion region being apart from the LED region. The first light affecting feature affects light in a manner different from that of the second light affecting feature. The light affecting features are selected to affect or alter light emitted from the LEDs to provide a desired Kelvin color temperature and diffusion.Type: GrantFiled: November 4, 2010Date of Patent: February 12, 2013Assignee: Forever Bulb, LLCInventor: David W. Publication number: 20120243230Abstract: A LED-based light bulb or lamp device including a bulb body, an LED assembly, an LED heatsink, and a power conversion heatsink. The LED assembly includes a plurality of LEDs and circuitry. The circuitry includes power converting components adapted to modify applied power for powering the LEDs via conductive wiring. The LED heatsink is mounted to the bulb body in close proximity to at least one of the LEDs. The power conversion heatsink is provided apart from the LED heatsink and is mounted to the bulb body in close proximity to at least one of the power converting components. The LED heatsink dissipates heat from at least some of the light emitting diode lights whereas the separate power conversion heatsink dissipates heat from the power converting circuitry components, thereby separating the heat-generating components and their mounting zones, heat paths and heatsink surface areas.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 23, 2012Publication date: September 27, 2012Applicant: FOREVER BULB, LLCInventors: David W.
