  • Patent number: 6839396
Abstract: Control device for a cooling circuit which enables a pressure tank of a reactor to be cooled even when a serious failure occurs, without having to resort to the use of external energy. One or more rods is disposed below a bottom cap of the reactor pressure tank. Each rod is connected to an emergency cooling system by a transmission system. The end of each rod opposite the transmission system is arranged at a distance of approximately 3 cm from the bottom cap. A hydraulic system is used advantageously as a transmission system. Each rod is placed vertically on a hydraulic cylinder arranged in a parallel position with respect to the axis of the reactor pressure tank, and each cylinder is connected to the emergency cooling system. When several hydraulic cylinders are used, they are connected to each other by hydraulic lines.

  • Patent number: 6612208
Abstract: Spindle nut holder for a spindle gear which drives a lever and functions under extreme conditions such as in a vacuum, under radiation exposure, and at a temperature close to absolute zero. The spindle nut holder includes a spindle nut and strip-shaped links each having an elongated, narrow cross section. One end of each link is connected to the spindle nut and the other end is connected to a frame. A pair of links are arranged on opposite sides of the spindle nut holder and each is oriented perpendicular to the spindle axis and the cross-section provides longer sides and shorter sides, the longer sides being parallel to the spindle axis. The cross-section of another link provides longer sides and shorter sides and is arranged relative to the pair of links such that the longer sides of this link are perpendicular to the longer sides of the pair of links.

  • Patent number: 6445267
Abstract: It is an object of the invention to propose a mechanical gearing for a tuner for cavity resonators, which can be realized and operated in a less expensive version and with long service life and little backlash even at very low temperatures. At the same time, there is no piezoelectric or magnetostrictive driving mechanisms or their combinations with coarse driving mechanisms. The tuner includes a multi-stage lever mechanism, for which the fulcrum and the movable connecting site are integral and are connected over a narrow cross member. The connecting sites between the stages of the multi-stage lever mechanism are constructed as a bolt-shaped part, the ends of which are firmly connected with one stage and the middle part of which is connected with the other stage.

  • Patent number: 6347783
Abstract: The object of the invention is to propose an arrangement, with which, when shutting-off or throttling the transport of a liquid with a fitting, the occurrence of undesirable pressures in the pipeline is prevented reliably without supplying air or other gases into the pipeline, as well as without using an air chamber or an auxiliary fitting or additional controllers and without specifying a fixed shutting off and throttling rate. The implementation of the invention shall prevent impermissible pressures upstream as well as downstream of the shutting-off fitting. The invention provides that a braking system is connected with the pipeline and is driven by liquid pressure in the pipeline, acting on the drive shaft, the drive spindle or the drive rods of the shutting-off or throttling fitting.

  • Patent number: 6314373
Abstract: A measurement device is disclosed for measuring the conductivity distribution in liquids or multiple phase media flowing in any direction. A grid sensor has electrodes shaped as parallel electroconductive grid bars or wires located in two or three planes and electrically insulated from each other and from their mounting. The electrodes in the individual planes are mutually offset by preferably 90°. One of the planes, the middle plane when three planes are used, forms an exciter plane connected with a pulse generator, whereas the other planes(s) form receiver plane(s) coupled to processing electronics. in the disclosed signal generation process, the electrodes of the exciter plane are successively driven with a symmetrical bipolar rectangular pulse, and all non-driven electrodes are connected with low impedance to the zero potential.

  • Patent number: 6281037
Abstract: The invention relates to the production of semiconductor elements made of diamond, diamond layers and diamond-like layers, which are doped using the ion implantation method and on which N-type conductive areas are also placed. According to the invention, silicium at a concentration of more than 0.1 atom % is implanted in the lateral and depth areas to be doped, in addition to the elements of the fifth main group known per se which are used in doping. The silicium can be implanted before or after the elements of the fifth main group are applied to the diamond substrate or in a step comprising both. When silicium is implanted after the ions of the elements of the fifth main group, regeneration can be carried out after each implantation or after the second implantation.

  • Patent number: 6205948
Abstract: A modulator for regulating high voltage pulsed plasma-immersion ion implantation (PIII) acting as a substantial component in a PIII installation is provided. The modulator enables low-cost, easy connection and disconnection of a flow of large high voltage pulsed currents during PIII. In the modulator, pulse regulation occurs by means of an additional electrode which is controlled by a shielding grid as opposed to a high voltage switch mounted as a technically autonomous unit. The electrode and shielding grid are integrated into the implantation chamber and connected to a capacitor to provide high voltage. The shielding grid is triggered by a pulse generator with voltage pulses of 1-2000 V. The shielding grid surrounding the electrode is immersed in plasma and ensures that the additional electrode is either insulated from the plasma or in electric contact therewith by applying controllable grid voltages.

  • Patent number: 5307299
Abstract: A system for processing the signals from a gamma or other radiation detector through a charge-sensitive preamplifier, makes use of a fast analog to digital converter at the input, preferably downstream of an anti-aliasing filter, and circuitry for the deconvolution of the signal in which the preamplifier transfer function is convoluted with the charge distribution function The deconvolution results which are free from any charge related to any radiation event are averaged and subtracted from the averaged value of the deconvolution results, which results contain completely the charge of the event under processing, and the subtracted signal through a register provides the output. The system represents a significant improvement with respect to the ballistic deficit suppression and with respect to the noise index-counting rate factor allowing a significant improvement in the counting rate for a given noise level or a higher resolution for a given counting rate.
