  • Patent number: 10763549
Abstract: A method for producing at least one electrochemical cell of a solid-state battery, comprising a mixed-conducting anode, a mixed-conducting cathode, and an interposed electrolyte, is characterized in that a mixed-conducting anode and a mixed-conducting cathode are initially produced or provided. The surface of at least one of the two electrodes is modified by way of an additional method step in such a way that the electronic conductivity perpendicular to the cell is reduced to less than 10?8 S/cm in a layer of the electrode near the surface. The anode and cathode are then assembled to form a solid-state battery in such a way that the surface-modified layer of at least one electrode is disposed as an electrolyte layer between the anode and cathode, and the mixed-conducting electrodes are thereby electronically separated.

  • Patent number: 10714568
Abstract: A method for producing a planar free surface comprising embedded, contactable nanostructures includes arranging at least one nanostructure on a surface of an initial substrate; applying a first layer to the surface of the initial substrate, wherein the first layer embeds the at least one nanostructure; applying a target substrate to the first layer; and separating the initial substrate from the first layer such that the at least one nanostructure embedded in the first layer has a planar free surface. An additional layer is applied to the surface of the initial substrate before the at least one nanostructure is applied to the initial substrate, and in that the initial substrate is removed from the first layer using a solvent.

  • Patent number: 8116874
Abstract: A device including at least one electrode and/or at least one chip configured to stimulate cerebral neurons that have a pathological oscillatory activity with a period duration T, n contact points that are distributed over at least one electrode and/or over at least one chip and are configured to output electrical stimulus signals to the brain, and a controller configured to drive the contact points so that the contact points output a low-frequency succession of sequences of high-frequency pulse trains to the brain, wherein, for each sequence, m contact points of the n contact points are selected, with m?2 and m<n, and high-frequency pulse trains are applied only via the selected m points, and the temporal shift between two successive high-frequency pulse trains that are applied by different contact points is T/m.

  • Patent number: 5330905
Abstract: To obtain enzymes from an enzyme-containing suspension, such as fermentation broth, the suspension is placed, together with particulate material capable of binding enzyme, such as ion exchange resin, in a vertical container. An ascending stream of inert gas, such as dry nitrogen, is passed through the resulting composition at a rate sufficient for fluidization. The resulting composition is mixed and evaporated until an adequate amount of enzyme is bound to the particulate material. Concentration of enzyme in the suspension is directly proportional to the amount of enzyme bound to particulate material. The residual suspension is forced out of the container by a pulse of compressed gas, and the bound enzyme is eluted. To speed up the process, the stream of gas and/or the composition are heated to enzyme-tolerated temperatures. The resulting composition can be further subjected to a washing step after removal of the residual suspension and prior to elution of the enzyme.

  • Patent number: 5308490
Abstract: A plant suitable, in particular, for denitrifying sewage purification by the activated sludge process comprises several tanks which are charged with untreated water via a common delivery conduit which is preferably designed as a ring main. This delivery conduit, which is arranged above the maximum water level in the tanks, has an essentially horizontal course and serves as storage space for the sewage feed to the individual tanks via rapid-closing and -opening gate valves for spontaneous or gravitational emptying into the particular tank. The delivery conduit is preferably designed as a closed double channel with a lower discharge conduit, which is located below the minimum water level in the tanks, for discharging the sludge/water mixture to the final clarification tank. It is expedient to include an operation bridge or walkway with the delivery conduit.
