Abstract: An axial pin tumbler type lock with alarm triggering capability upon an attempt at picking by stemmed locking pins which will close a circuit through a contact element wherein the contact element is seated against the rear of the stationary sleeve which is of insulating material, the contact element having openings therein which allow the pin stems to pass through and beyond the contact element, and an insulating ring which is fixed to and rotatable with the spindle, the insulating ring being also made of insulating material and having a plurality of bores that can receive the pin stems thereby preventing the application of the requisite torque to defeat the lock by picking.
Abstract: A cable lock having an elongated lock body secured to one end of the cable with a transverse cable receiving bore passing completely through the lock body and a key-actuated plug carried by the body with first securement means associated with the transverse cable receiving bore. The opposite end of the cable has a lug end engagement member adapted to be received in the transverse bore and means for interlocking engagement with the key plug engagement means upon rotation of a key in the plug to secure the cable to the lock body. A plurality of spaced lug engagement members carried by the cable likewise have securement means to be interlocked with the cable body such that the cable can be locked to the body in a plurality of positions to provide varying size loops of cable used for securement of bicycles, motorcycles and the like.
Abstract: A citizens band radio locking device for attachment to a stationary structure of vehicle which includes a frame structure which comprises a C-shaped bar member and a rectangular bar member transversely fixed to the C-shaped bar. The C-shaped bar carries a key actuated lock and a spindle which may be secured by the lock or removed therefrom bridges the opening between the ends of the C-shaped bar to confine and secure a CB radio within the frame structure.
Abstract: A machine for making identical tubular keys from a sample includes a decoder having a gage means mounted on the base of the machine for measuring the axial length of a bite in the sample. The decoder serves to position a first stop means for engagement by the blank to be cut so that the bite cut in the blank by a cutter will be of the same axial length as the bite in the sample. For proper positioning of the stop means, the decoder includes a rotatable cam disk having opposite edges shaped as inverted mirror images of each other. With this shape, the disk may be turned on a support until one of the edges engages the gage means. Once so positioned, the opposite edge of the disk locates the stop means for engagement by the blank at an axial position for cutting the same length of bite in the blank as the length of the bite in the sample being measured by the gage means.
Abstract: A maximum security padlock of the type having a monolithic lock body or case with a plurality of shackle and lock-receiving bores therein is made of a compressed and sintered powder metal alloy of an austenitic stainless steel. As a consequence of this unique material, the lock body is readily made with most or all of the bores formed in compressing the powder metal. While the resulting sintered lock body is relatively, substantially, softer than a conventional lock body and the shackle, when an attempt is made to saw or otherwise cut through the body the stainless steel work-hardens to resist and slow down further cutting. Improvements in the lock mechanism augment the characteristics provided by powder metal fabrication.
