Abstract: The single facer includes a first feed path for feeding a first paper web towards a corrugating nip defined between a first corrugating roller and a second corrugating roller. The single facer also includes a second feed path for feeding a second paper web towards a pressure nip defined between the first corrugating roller and a pressure member co-acting with the first corrugating roller. A respective heating system is provided along each feed path. Each heating system includes at least a pair of heating plates.
Abstract: The method includes the step of pulling the corrugated board along hot plates by means of an upper flexible member and a lower flexible member driven by two electric motors. By at least one electric parameter of the drive motor of the lower flexible member, the correct operation of the traction device and in particular the correct ratio of the linear feeding speeds of the two flexible members is checked. The method provides an iterative check of the controlled electric parameter and a possible correction of the speed of the flexible members to maintain the desired speed ratio.
Abstract: A splicing device to join a first web material coming from a reel being fed (BA), to a second web material (NB), coming from a reel standing by (BB), comprising two heads (107A, 127A; 107B, 127B), each of which comprises: a roller (129A; 129B) associated with a clamping bar (143A, 145A; 143B, 145B) to hold an initial edge of the second web material (NB); a counter-pressure member (109A; 109B) cooperating with said roller (129A; 129B) to press said first and second web material (NA, NB) against each other; a cutting member (111A; 111B); a moving unit (113A; 113B), on which said counter-pressure member (109A; 109B) and said cutting member (111A; 111B) are carried. A first common control member (121) is provided to cause, by the movement it imparts to the moving unit of one or other head alternately: pinching of the first and second web material between the roller (129A; 129B) and the counter-pressure member (109A; 109B); cutting of the first web material; and release of the second web material.
Abstract: The splicing device comprises two heads (41A, 43A; 41B, 43B), each of which has: a roller (33A; 33B) associated with a clamping bar (93A; 93B) to hold between said roller and said clamping bar an initial edge (L) of the second web material; a counter-pressure member (53A; 53B) cooperating with said roller to press said first and second web materials against each other; and a cutting member (67A; 67B).
Abstract: The apparatus for cutting a weblike material (N) fed continuously along a path (P) through said apparatus comprises a rotating cutting cylinder (101) and an opposing member (105), these being arranged on opposite sides of said path (P). On the cutting cylinder are a plurality of blade segments (111) distributed along the length of the cutting cylinder and connected to actuators (119, 121) for producing a movement of selective extension and retraction of the blade segments (111) with respect to the cutting cylinder (101).
Abstract: The device comprises at least one circular slitting tool (25; 25B) with an axis of rotation located on one side of the path of the web, which works in conjunction with an edge (68; 68B) that supports the web (N) and that is situated on the opposite side of said path (P) from the tool axis and essentially perpendicular to the direction of forward travel (F) of the web and over which said web (N) travels during its advance.
