Abstract: A chemically modified cellulose/alginate co-spun (seacell) fiber, a wound dressing made therefrom and a preparation method thereof. The seacell fiber is subject to a chemical modification through which a hydrophilic carboxymethyl group is introduced into the cellulose structure making the chemically modified seacell fiber more absorbent. The modified cellulose has a degree of substitution of 0.05-0.5; the seacell fiber has a linear density of 0.5-5 dtex and a fiber length of 5-180 mm. The seacell fiber has hygroscopic and gel-forming properties, while retaining its active ingredient of algae particles.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a silver containing antimicrobial fibre, fabric and wound dressing and its method of manufacturing. Silver ions are evenly distributed in the interior or on a surface of an antibacterial fibre structure. The silver content in the dressing is 0.01-10 weight %. As wound treatment dressing, the fibre wound dressing has a capability of continuously releasing a sufficient amount of silver, is particularly suitable for chronic wound treatment, can provide a long-term and effective antibacterial function, and can effectively prevent various bacteria or other microorganisms from infecting a wound.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a wound dressing with high absorption capacity and the method of manufacturing. The wound dressing is a knitted fabric comprising of a fluffy layer of gelling fibres and a layer of non-gelling fibres as the backing. The gelling fibres are knitted onto the backing structure and the length fluffy fibre outside the backing structure is between 1-100 mm, preferably 5-50 mm. The wound dressing can be used to manage chronic wounds such as venous stasis ulcers, pressure ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers and other chronic ulcer wounds.
