Abstract: A non-caustic drain cleaner which acts by generating heat at the site of the clogging comprising a mixture of peroxygen oxidizing agent and a water-soluble reducing agent and to a method of restoring normal flow to clogged drains.
Abstract: A cleaning composition in dry powder form comprising a water-soluble alkaline detergent, a water-immiscible organic liquid absorbed on said water-soluble alkaline detergent, and an emulsifying agent of such properties and in such amount that when the cleaning composition is dispersed in water, the emulsion which is formed is in an unstable condition and breaks within one hour, releasing droplets of the organic liquid, wherein the quantity of the water-soluble alkaline detergent is sufficient to absorb the organic liquid and form a free-flowing dry powder.
