Abstract: Voltage-controlled spin field effect transistors (“spin transistors”) and methods for their use in switching applications are provided. In the spin transistors, spin current is transported from a spin injection contact to a spin detection contact through a multiferroic antiferromagnetic channel via magnon propagation. The spin current transport is modulated by the application of a gate voltage that increases the number of domain boundaries the multiferroic antiferromagnetic material.
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for synthesizing information from multiple image series of different kernels into a single image series, and also for converting a single baseline image series of a kernel reconstructed by a CT scanner to image series of various other kernels, using deep-learning based methods. For multi-kernel synthesis, a single set of images with desired high spatial resolution and low image noise can be synthesized from multiple image series of different kernels. The synthesized kernel is sufficient for a wide variety of clinical tasks, even in circumstances that would otherwise require many separate image sets. Kernel conversion may be configured to generate images with arbitrary reconstruction kernels from a single baseline kernel. This would reduce the burden on the CT scanner and the archival system, and greatly simplify the clinical workflow.

Abstract: An apparatus and method of treatment of an animal using the apparatus are disclosed. The apparatus includes a scalpel, a laser included in the scalpel, and a visible light source included in the scalpel. The visible light source provides a visible targeting beam. The method of treatment includes activating a visible targeting beam in a laser scalpel. The visible targeting beam has an illumination intensity. The method further includes illuminating a tumor that includes cancerous cells and non-cancerous cells with the visible targeting beam, activating an invisible mid-infrared laser included in the scalpel to produce a laser spot at the tumor, and ablating the cancerous cells while leaving the non-cancerous cells substantially undamaged.
Abstract: A memory system includes a memory device including a memory cell array divided into a plurality of memory banks, and a memory controller that sends read requests or write requests to the memory device for the purpose of inputting data to or outputting data from the memory banks of the memory cell array, respectively, and sends the read requests so as to be separated from the write requests based on a read-write switching point. In a first turn, the memory controller sets a near switching point before the read-write switching point. The memory controller blocks scheduling at least one of first bank requests, between the near switching point and the read-write switching point. The memory controller schedules at least one of second bank requests, which cause state switching of the memory banks, so as to be issued between the near switching point and the read-write switching point.

Abstract: An exemplary system, method and computer-accessible medium for harmonizing neuromelanin (NM) data using combat directly on a NM database or using combat generated coefficients to harmonize future data can include, for example, receiving imaging information of a brain of the patient(s), from one MRI scanner, receiving imaging information of a brain of the patient(s), from a second MRI scanner and using combat to harmonize the data between scanners against a reference dataset. The Neuromelanin (NM) concentration of the patient(s) can then be determined based on the harmonized data. The NM concentration can be determined using a voxel-wise analysis procedure. The voxel-wise analysis procedure can be used to determine a topographical pattern(s) within a substantia nigra (SN) of the brain of the patient(s).
