Abstract: The present disclosure provides a point autoencoder including an encoder receiving a 3D point cloud and extracting a global feature and a decoder reconstructing the 3D point cloud from the global feature; a dual autoencoder including the point autoencoder; and a method for dimensional transformation of a point cloud using the dual autoencoder. According to the present disclosure, it is possible to extract features from an input point cloud using a Bias-Induced Decoding (BID) layer, perform reconstruction of a 3D point cloud from the corresponding feature information, and reconstruct a 3D point cloud by using only high-dimensional global features as an input. Also, the present disclosure reduces the amount of storage space used and reduces computational complexity than the conventional structure employing a fully connected layer.

Abstract: Methods for determining likelihood of thrombosis based on patient-specific anatomic, valve, and flow parameters are disclosed herein. Such methods are used to select a transcatheter aortic valve that decreases likelihood of thrombosis after TAVR procedures. The methods correlate a number of fluid flow and geometric parameters such as stasis volume, neo-sinus volume, kinematic viscosity, dynamic viscosity, heart rate, the circulation, ejection time, velocity of the main jet, wall shear stress, total kinetic energy in the neo sinus volume, width of the neo-sinus, height or depth of the neo-sinus, the angle between the velocity direction and the stent of the transcatheter valve, the distance from the tip of the leaflet perpendicular to the leaflet edge and intersecting the sinotubular junction, and the cross-sectional area of the neo-sinus taken from a longitudinal or axial perspective. Such parameters are used to derive empirical or semi-empirical mathematical models to determine the likelihood of thrombosis.

Abstract: An operation method of a first end node in a vehicle network supporting a PLCA function is provided. The method includes performing a monitoring operation in a first time interval configured for communication of the first end node and detecting a transmission request signal transmitted from a second end node by the monitoring operation. In response to detecting the transmission request signal, a transmission operation of the first end node in the first time interval is stopped. The first time interval is used for communication of a second end node instead of the first end node.

Abstract: Presented are model predictive control (MPC) systems, methods, and devices for regulating operation of hybrid powertrains. A method of controlling a hybrid powertrain includes a controller determining path plan data, including a vehicle origin, destination, and predicted path. Based on this path plan data, the controller estimates vehicle velocities for multiple rolling road segments of the predicted path and, based on the estimated velocities, determines an estimated power request—transmission input torque and/or vehicle axle torque—for each road segment. The controller calculates a minimum cost function such that total fuel consumption to generate the engine power output is minimized. Minimizing the cost function is subject to battery pack current limits and state of charge (SOC) terminal costs at the ends of the rolling road segments. Command signals are sent to the engine and motor to output engine and motor torque based on the calculated minimum cost function.

Abstract: A variable PET apparatus allows structural changes of detector modules in transversal and longitudinal directions to correspond to various imaging purposes and a cross-sectional diameter of a subject while maintaining an arrangement of the detector modules to be close to a true circle. The variable PET apparatus includes: a gantry having an opening on a longitudinal axis; and detector modules supported on the gantry and arranged a predetermined distance apart from each other such that a detection ring is configured with a diameter in a circumferential direction, wherein the gantry is driven by a gantry drive member, and the detector modules are driven by a detector module drive member. According to the present invention, structural changes of the detector modules in the PET apparatus is possible to correspond to a cross-sectional diameter of a subject without additional devices, thereby improving the spatial resolution and sensitivity.

Abstract: A laser beam apparatus can include a set of pulsed lasers (e.g. solid state fiber lasers), a controllable beam deflector, and an electric power supply and controller connected to the beam deflector. The laser pulses from the different pulsed lasers can be configured to hit the beam deflector at different angles and different times. The electric power supply and controller can be configured to control and synchronize the timing and angle at which the different lasers pulses hit the beam deflector with an adjustment of the deflection property of the beam deflector so that the laser pulses from different input directions propagate in the same direction after passing through the beam deflector. The laser pulses from the lasers can be combined together via this control and synchronization.
Abstract: Portable flow aid devices, systems, and methods for promoting bulk powder flow in containers. The portable flow aid devices include a housing having an enclosed internal cavity therein, and at least two vibration motors each adapted to generate vibration and each separately fixedly attached to an interior surface of the housing within the internal cavity to transmit the vibration generated thereby to the housing. Wireless communication with the portable flow aid devices causes the vibration motors to generate the vibrations and thereby apply a localized vibration to portions of a bulk powder within a container and in contact with the housing of the portable flow aid device to promote flow of the bulk powder within the container.
