An intellectual property asset management application is integrated with an asset management application through a third application. Communication conduits are configured in communication with the applications in the form of queues and schedulers to facilitate communicating instructions among the applications. Web services are employed as a communication medium to send instructions among the applications.

Abstract: A method and system for performing an analysis on documents related to one or more aspects of a technology field is provided. The method includes computing a plurality of coefficients from a patent landscape created based on the documents and the one or more aspects of the technology field. The method further includes computing weights for each of the plurality of coefficients using a predefined method. The method further includes calculating a probability score for the one or more aspects using the plurality of coefficients and the weights assigned to each of the plurality of coefficients.

Abstract: A search platform and method for enhancing analysis of contents in a patent/non-patent literature document by locating/extracting additional similar contents in the patent/non-patent literature document based on a user selected content/text in the document. A user selects a first portion of the text in the patent/non-patent literature document, and in response to the user selection of the first portion of the text, the search engine automatically highlights at least a second portion of the text in the same patent/non-patent literature document wherein the first portion and the second portion of the text have closest similar contents compared to the rest of the patent/non-patent literature document.

Abstract: A system and method provide a web-based infomediary for dissemination of intellectual property transfer information among multiple users via a global computer network such as the World Wide Web. The system and method can be used to provide network users with information to facilitate transfer of intellectual property rights by assignment or license. Also, the system and method can be configured to collect bids and offers from parties seeking to acquire rights, or conduct a web-based auction. In this manner, the system and method provide a web-based infomediary in the sense that they facilitate person-to-person or business-to-business online exchanges that leverage the Internet to unite buyers and sellers into a single, efficient virtual marketplace that provides a concentration of pertinent information.

The present invention deterministically analyzes a set of network resources over a configurable monitoring period, thereby guaranteeing that recently published information is retrieved. The present invention includes a scalable software system that can be readily executed on a stand-alone computing system or distributed across a network of computing devices. At the end of each monitoring period, the present invention balances the traversal and searching of network resources across the computing devices in the distributed system according to the previous number of pages retrieved for each network resources, thereby more accurately balancing the system.

Abstract: A search platform that can generate intellectual property intelligence within an organization using a patent search engine. The patent search engine can monitor and log activity of users in connection with patent-related activities, such as searching, commenting on, and reviewing patent documents associated with a shared workspace of the organization. Based on this captured activity, the search engine can provide the organization with statistical information in patent-related activities occurring within the organization.

Some such embodiments include mapping patent documents, claims, and claim limitations. Abstract: A method, system, and article are provided for efficiently and effectively searching an electronic document collection. Each of the documents in the collection is pre-divided into sub-sections. One or more profiles are created, each including a selection of at least one of the sections of the documents in the collection. In addition, a weight is assigned to each of the selected sections in the profile. Based upon the parameters of a query and selection of a profile, select sub-sections of each document are employed to compare query data to the underlying document collection. A compilation of documents is created with data matching the query data, and a relevancy score is computed for each document in the compilation. The relevancy score is then leveraged to sort the documents in a manner to convey relevancy to the query submission.

Abstract: A method and apparatus provide, in one example embodiment, for storing and processing information in a data storage and processing system on a server, the server accessed by attorneys using the system from client computers, wherein the information pertains to a plurality of legal matters being handled by the attorneys, and wherein the legal matters are for respective clients. A group of electronic documents stored in the management system are selected using the client computer, wherein the electronic documents are associated with a particular one of the legal matters, and the user requests that the group of documents be bulk downloaded. Due dates for documents submission are tracked by the management tool. A graphical user interface is provided as an overlay to the query submission to facilitate entry of the filters for fields to be joined in the query, and to support placement of a further constraint on the joined fields. In response to the query, a report is generated. Organization of the report limits association of one constraint data item per filtered data item per row in the report.

One aspect of the invention can provide a greater degree of predicting success or potential success based on identifying a data factor that has a potential influence upon success of the application.
