    Abstract: The present disclosure provides a trash compactor and methods of compacting trash. In an embodiment of the present disclosure the compactor is configured to automatically actuate an integrated hydraulic unit that is configured to both pivot a multi-sectioned crush plate and also to lower the plate into a base member. Related methods of compacting are also provided.
