Patent number: 7057617Abstract: Font data for each resolution level is stored in a font memory (10). Character specifying addresses A0 to Ax and font resolution levels L0 to Lz are input to output the optimum font data that match the resolution of an output device such as a display device or a printer. As a result, for example, it is possible to specify font data having a higher resolution level when enlarging a display on a display device or when printing from a printer capable of a high quality output, and it is possible to specify font data having a low resolution level when reducing a screen display on a display device and when confirming a layout.Type: GrantFiled: February 18, 2000Date of Patent: June 6, 2006Assignee: Fourie, Inc.Inventor: Shinsuke Nishida

Patent number: 7050202Abstract: When transmitting at least one group of image data from a transmitter for transmitting image data or a relay apparatus for relaying image data using common wiring or frequency band having the same transmission wave, it is checked whether a total volume of the image data transmitted at the same transmission timing exceeds a maximum volume of data which can be transmitted in a frequency band. When the total volume exceeds the maximum volume, the transmission timing of a portion of the image data or at least one group of image data from among the image data transmitted at the same transmission timing is shifted temporally forwards or backwards within a time span which is undetectable by the human eyes, and thereafter the data is transmitted.Type: GrantFiled: May 19, 2000Date of Patent: May 23, 2006Assignee: Fourie, Inc.Inventor: Shinsuke Nishida

Patent number: 6909522Abstract: A display signal for character “A” has a structure comprising multiple layers (layers a to d) at the resolution of, for instance, level n to level n+3. The higher the level is, the high resolution of a print image is. A display signal at a required level is selected according to a purpose of printing. When a desired level is selected, a corresponding layer is extracted by a format changing section. For instance, when the level n+2 is selected, the layer c is extracted. Printing is executed with the resolution at this level n+2. Selection of resolution can be made in the side of the printing apparatus.Type: GrantFiled: September 4, 1998Date of Patent: June 21, 2005Assignee: Fourie, Inc.Inventor: Shinsuke Nishida

Patent number: 6373600Abstract: An A/D converter converts analog data received from a light-receiving element via an amplifier to digital data. From the A/D converter, digital data is transmitted via a multiplier to a comparing circuit. The comparing circuit compares the digital data with a reference data, and when the absolute value of the difference thereof is equal to or more than a present threshold value outputs the digital data to the switch circuit via the multiplier, and also updates the reference value. Then the reference data is updated with the digital data. When a bus line is idle, a controller switches output from the switch circuit and outputs the digital data to the bus line. Then address data and time code are appended to the digital data.Type: GrantFiled: September 28, 1998Date of Patent: April 16, 2002Assignee: Fourie, Inc.Inventor: Shinsuke Nishida

Patent number: 6297787Abstract: In a display device, wiring for the respective display elements is simplified so that the assembling work and the maintenance work become easy. A large number of display units (50) are arranged in length and breadth directions to form the display device. Each display unit comprises a display element (10) comprised of a light bulb, a regulator (51) comprised of a relay, a non-volatile memory (52) comprised of an EEPROM and a controller (53) including a CPU. For these display units (50), a passage (61) for power supply and a passage (71) for supply of synchronizing signal are drawn. Display information to designate change of display mode in time of light emitting or non-light emitting (ON/OFF) state are stored in memories within the respective display units. The controllers of the respective display units carry out ON/OFF control of regulators on the basis of the display information in synchronism with the synchronizing signal to turn ON or OFF the display elements.Type: GrantFiled: August 29, 1997Date of Patent: October 2, 2001Assignee: Fourie, Inc.Inventor: Shinsuke Nishida

Patent number: 6271806Abstract: A display system is realized by setting virtual units on a screen display section constructed with nine display units and repeatedly splitting the screen into four portions, allocating virtual addresses each expressed with a binary value for each split level to each split unit of the screen (area). Thus, by setting the virtual units, the screen can be split into two portions (into four portions on the whole) even if there are physically only three display units along one side of the screen. For this reason, even when the screen is repeatedly split into four portions and each address is set to each of the split units to display an image, the image is not trimmed of any part thereof.Type: GrantFiled: October 19, 1998Date of Patent: August 7, 2001Assignees: Daichu Denshi Co., Ltd., Fourie, Inc.Inventors: Takahiko Motoshima, Masayuki Kusano, Tadahiro Kimura, Shinsuke Nishida

Patent number: 6232933Abstract: A dummy magnifying display apparatus, in which a magnified screen comprises a plane section and a slant section. The plane section comprises a screen display section located on a flat surface of a wall or the like. The slant section is provided at an angle between the wall and a ceiling and also located so that user U's eyes and a screen form a substantially right angle. An image that the user could see on the dummy screen is displayed on the slant section. When an image of a smokestack is displayed, for example, a lower half section of the smokestack appears on the plane section and an upper half section thereof appears on the slant section. In this case, the smokestack displayed on the slant section appears by being compressed in the longitudinal direction thereof. With those steps, it actually looks from the position of the user as if the upper half section of the smokestack is displayed on the dummy screen. As a result, a screen larger than the actual screen can be obtained.Type: GrantFiled: September 17, 1998Date of Patent: May 15, 2001Assignee: Fourie, Inc.Inventor: Shinsuke Nishida
