Abstract: A voice-activated light system that includes a microphone for receiving one or more voice commands (which may be referred to as a “voice microphone”), one or more light sources (such as LEDs) coupled to a controller and a light driver. The light driver is for driving the light sources and the controller is for detecting a voice command in order to control the mode of operation of the one or more light sources. The controller can have multiple control commands each for selecting a different mode of operation of the light source(s). The modes can be controlled by a common voice input term followed by a second voice command corresponding to a mode of operation of the light source. The system may include a second microphone which may be referred to herein as a “music microphone”. The commands can include “light show,” “slow pulse,” “steady on,” “blinking,” or “off”.
Abstract: An expandable grip apparatus to assist in holding a handheld device includes a base member having a substantially flat contact surface for securing to a surface of the handheld device, a top member that is spaced from the base member, and an expandable center section that connects between the base member and the top member, the expandable center section comprised of a series of integral foldable pleats. The series of integral foldable pleats include adjacently disposed foldable pleats that define a living hinge between the adjacently disposed foldable pleats to enable the expandable center section to selectively nest onto each other. The base member can include an adhesive or a magnet for securing the grip apparatus to the handheld device.
Abstract: A cooling bracelet that is adapted to be worn by a user for the purpose of cooling the wrist area of the user so as to lower the users body temperature after a period of exercise. The cooling bracelet is adapted for use in combination with a cooling pack that is mounted in the cooling bracelet. The cooling bracelet includes a middle pad and separate elongated bracelet straps that extend from the middle pad. Respective securing members are disposed at free ends of each elongated bracelet strap. The respective securing members are for fastening the cooling bracelet about the wrist area of the user. The middle pad of the cooling bracelet has a recess for receiving the cooling pack therein, said recess positioned, when the cooling bracelet is fastened about the wrist area of the user, to face the wrist area of the user in order to provide a cooling effect from the cooling pack and against the wrist area of the user.
Abstract: A display arrangement includes a base, a decorative shell having a front cover and a back cover, an elongated central post that is rotatably coupled to the decorative shell and fixedly coupled to the base, a light source disposed on the elongated central post and within the shell, such that the light is visible though at least one opening in the shell, a stem coupled to the shell and coupled to the elongated central post, the stem having a magnet on one end, and a coil configured to receive energy from a power source to cause an arcing motion of the magnet, the stem, and thereby the decorative shell. The display arrangement can include a second shell disposed horizontally above the decorative shell and coupled to the decorative shell, and can also include a third shell disposed horizontally below the decorative shell, and that is coupled to the decorative shell.
Abstract: A system for controlling a plurality of light sources particularly LED's that are provided in a number of different arrangements including a light string and controlled from a controller that includes an input microphone for detecting an audio signal, at least one pre-amplifier, a microcomputer unit receiving signals from the pre-amplifier, and a circuit for driving a plurality of LED and that enables lighting control of the plurality of LED's in accordance with the input audio signal and within a wide dynamic range.
