  • Patent number: 8948812
Abstract: A wireless communication device (10) incorporates computing hardware (20) coupled to a data memory (30), to a wireless communication interface (50) for communicating data from and to the wireless communication device (10), to a graphical user interface (40) for receiving user input, and to an optical imaging sensor (60) for receiving captured image data therefrom. The computing hardware (10) executes software applications (200) for enabling the optical imaging sensor (60) to capture images, and for storing corresponding image data in the data memory (30) and/or for communicating the corresponding image data from the wireless communication device (10) via its wireless communication interface (50). The wireless communication device (10) has an elongate external enclosure having a longest dimension (L) defining a direction of a corresponding elongate axis (110) for the wireless communication device (10).

Abstract: A video clip editing system employs a mobile communication device including computing hardware coupled to data memory, to a touch-screen graphical user interface, and to a wireless communication interface, wherein the computing hardware is operable to execute one or more software applications stored in the data memory. The software applications provide an editing environment on the user interface for editing video clips by user swiping-type instructions for generating a composite video creation, wherein a timeline for icons representative of video clips is presented as a scrollable line feature on the user interface. Icons of one or more video clips for inclusion into the timeline are presented adjacent to the timeline on the user interface, such that video clips corresponding to the icons are incorporated onto the timeline by the user employing swiping-type instructions entered at the user interface for generating the composite video creation.

  • Publication number: 20140095291
Abstract: A media distribution system (100) includes one or more databases (210) coupled via a communication network (200) to users (260). The system (100) provides for a subset of the users (260) to upload video content (250) for distribution via the system (100) to other users (260), wherein: (a) the system (100) includes a reviewing arrangement (270) for receiving the uploaded video content (250) provided to the system (100) and for generating corresponding recommendations (280) which determine an extent to which the video content (250) is disseminated through the system (100) to other users (260): and (b) the system (100) includes a reward arrangement for rewarding users who have uploaded the video content (250) to the system (100) as a function of the recommendations (280) and an extent of distribution of the video content (250).
