Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for regulating sending implemented by a station during a tournament for access to a wireless communication network. The method includes, in the course of a round of the tournament: a step of reception of a first signal, sent by another station and indicating that this other station has obtained during the round of the tournament an authorization to send a data packet, a step of sending of a second signal indicating that the station has received the first signal.

Abstract: A method for coding a sequence of video images comprising a cutting into zones of at least one current image of the sequence, characterized in that, for the coding of at least one target zone of said at least one current image, it comprises the steps of: determination (E2) of a set of candidate zones in previously coded and then decoded parts of images of the sequence, minimizing a prediction error calculated over the neighborhood of the target zone, formation (E3) of a set of groups of candidate zones in said set of candidate zones, as a function of a criterion of similarity between the candidate zones, identification (E6) of a best group in said set of groups, minimizing a reconstruction error with respect to the target zone, determination (E6) of an indication (n) representative of said identified best group; and coding (E7) of said indication (n).

Abstract: A method and apparatus for measuring a propagation delay of an optical signal between first and second devices in an optical transmission network, the optical signal being transmitted from the first device to the second device via a first optical fiber and from the second device to the first device via a second optical fiber. The second device includes a loopback having a first mode enabling the optical signal to be routed between the two devices. The method includes: detecting by the second device a triggering by the first device of a propagation delay measurement; receiving a measurement signal transmitted by the first device via the first optical fiber; and configuring the loopback in a second mode in which the loopback injects a return signal into the first fiber in response to the measurement signal. The first device implements a method for determining the propagation delay.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for managing authentication of a user of a telecommunications network of an operator. The method includes the following steps: on receipt of a request for access to a service provided by the operator of this network by the user, issuing a request for identification of an authentication server destined for an authentication location server, the request including at least one identifier of the user; and on receipt of a response comprising an identifier of an authentication server associated with the identifier of the user, issuing a request for authentication of the user at the server identified for the requested service.

Abstract: A method for browsing in a visual content such as a document or a list. The content is available on a terminal having a browsing command. Part of the content is displayed on a display of the terminal. The browsing commands enable the contents displayed on the screen to be made to scroll in the direction specified by the command introduced. The displayed part is duplicated into two identical images when one end of the content situated in the direction of movement specified by the browsing command is displayed on the means for displaying. A first image remains still and a second image moves in the direction of movement specified by the browsing command so long as the command is active. In this way, the user sees that the command has indeed been taken into account and notes visually that the end of the visual content has been reached.

Abstract: A method of data processing for securing local resources in a mobile device. The method includes: a) when network connectivity is available: coupling the mobile device with a first identity module associated to a first International Mobile Subscriber Identity (IMSI), receiving in the first identity module a network challenge from a communication network, ciphering the network challenge using a secret key, and sending a corresponding response to the network for subsequent successful authentication, b) after a successful authentication to the communication network: associating at least a part of the local resources to the first IMSI, and storing, in a database of the mobile device, authentication data related to the challenge/response duplet, granting access to local resources associated to the first IMSI.

Abstract: A method of processing a tree data structure organized into interconnected elements. The method comprises the steps of: defining processing units as subsets of interconnected elements and allocating each processing unit a processing time on which the data of the allocated processing unit is to be used by a unit that is the destination for the data. The processing method can be applied to streaming metadata, in particular for adaptation of scalable multimedia content.

Abstract: A method and device are provided for reducing electricity consumption associated with a communications line having a set of N carriers of predetermined power suitable for conveying information to a receiver device. The method is adapted to determine first and second groups, each having respectively at least one of the carriers of the set N; to determine a volume of information to be conveyed on the N carriers during a unit of time; and if the determined volume is less than a predetermined threshold, to allocate a power less than the predetermined power to the carriers of the second group, the power of the carriers of the first group being maintained.

Abstract: A method of regulating traffic in a telecommunications network, including the following steps: after the network receives an initial registration request, and if the network is capable of processing said initial registration request, it prescribes for the terminal that sent the request a registration refresh period randomly selected from a range defined by a predetermined minimum value (PREImin) and a predetermined maximum value (PREImax), and after the network receives a registration refresh request, it prescribes for the terminal that sent the request a registration refresh period equal to the value (PRE) provided for normal operation of the network.

Abstract: Methods and devices for supervising a transfer of a call or of processing a call set up between first and second terminals in a communications network implementing an SIP type signaling protocol. The method is implemented after sending or receiving, as the case may be, a command to transfer the already-set up call to a call between the first terminal and a third terminal. The supervision method obtains an item of information relating to setting up the call between the first and third terminals and sends a command to resume the call between the first and second terminals as a function of whether at least one non-set up criterion is true. The processing method transmits information relating to setting up the call between the first and third terminals and sets up a call between the first and second terminals as a function of whether the resumption command is received.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for transmitting frames of N>2 symbols for use in a distributed system having at least two transmitter nodes. The method includes circularly permutating a frame of N symbols; multiplying m first permutated symbols by a phase coefficient ??1, for 0<m?[N/2]+1; and one of the nodes transmitting the frame including the multiplied permutated symbols and another of the nodes transmitting the frame of N symbols.

Abstract: A method of configuring a terminal including initializing the terminal, and which automatically triggers at least: detecting presence of a memory by a basic input/output system of the terminal, accessing the memory by the basic input/output system, starting up an operating system stored in the memory, and starting up a driver of a telecommunication network access module, the driver of the access module being stored in the memory and configured to drive the access module through a communication link between the terminal and a telecommunication device including the access module.

Abstract: A device, kit, and method are provided for anchoring an element on an exterior face of a wall of a building. The method includes, from the inside of the wall, running a line into a hole passing through the wall and fixing said line to an element anchoring device. The device comprising a fastener of said element, a bearing means, a first fixing means and a guide able to guide a second fixing means that collaborates with said first means. The method includes, from the inside, pulling said line in order to introduce the guide into said hole and, from the inside and using the guide, fixing the two fixing means together to press the bearing means firmly against the exterior face of the wall.

Abstract: A method is provided for processing flows in a wireless communications network. Data packets belonging to different flows are received by a device of a communications network and stored in a queue to enable them to be sent by the device over a radio channel to at least one node. Access to the radio channel is time-shared between a plurality of nodes. The method includes: at least one step of determining a duration associated with a flow, the duration corresponding to a virtual duration needed for sending packets of said flow stored in the queue; and in order to send a data packet, a step of selecting one of the flows amongst a plurality of flows, in which step a flow is selected for which the associated duration is the smallest, and a step of sending a packet of the selected flow as extracted from the queue.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for managing a terminal of a user of a telecommunications network. The terminal is connected to the telecommunications network via at least one access network. Abstract: A method is provided for predicting an image by compensation during forward movement from at least one reference image. For at least one block of a reference image, referred to as a reference block, the prediction method includes the following steps: determining at least one piece of movement information, representing a movement between said reference block and a matching block in the image to be predicted; determining at least one enlarged block, including the reference block and at least one point of a block adjacent to said reference block in the reference image; and determining a prediction value for at least one point of the image to be predicted from the at least one enlarged block and from the movement information determined for the reference block.

Abstract: A method is provided for encoding at least one image, divided into macroblocks, one macroblock including a set of blocks de pixels. The method includes, for at least one current macroblock of a current image, at least two iterations of the following steps: allocation of a priority level for encoding to at least one pixel of the current macroblock, selection of a pixel with the highest priority level called the priority pixel, prediction of a set of pixels including the priority pixel and a step of encoding a remainder from prediction for a region made up of predicted pixels of the macroblock, called the predicted region, the encoding step being used as and when the predicted region meets a predetermined encoding criterion.

Abstract: A method implemented by a terminal for accessing a CSG femtocell of a first access network. The terminal includes a list containing identifiers of CSG femtocells to which an access right is defined. The method includes: scanning a frequency band for discovering CSG femtocells; decoding, based on a key, a data stream broadcasted from the CGS femtocells; obtaining, based on the decoded data stream, an identifier of the CSG femtocells; and determining, based on the list, whether the terminal has authorized access to the discovered femtocells. The frequency band, the key or the list is determined based on a message received from a remote server via a second cellular access network different from the first access network.

Abstract: A method and device are provided for detecting acoustic shocks in an audio stream. The method includes: breaking down the audio stream into audio frames; analyzing the audio frames in order to assign each audio frame a category value from among a plurality of predefined values; and determining the probability of an acoustic shock occurring in a current frame, based on a sequence of a given length of category values assigned to a set of frames, using a two-state Markov model, defined by a predetermined transition matrix and transmission matrix.
