Abstract: The application relates to an appliance (1) for creating and monitoring a safety area (2) in a working space (3). The suggested appliance (1) comprises a recording device (4). The recording device (4) is configured to record images in a monitoring area (8) which encompasses the safety area (2). The appliance (1) further comprises an illumination device (5) which is configured to project lines or patterns which define the safety area (2), into the working space (3). Furthermore, the appliance (1) comprises an evaluation device (9) which is configured to evaluate the images which are recorded by the recording device (4), with respect to a violation of the safety area (2). The illumination device (5) is configured to project a temporally coded sequence (11, 11?, 11?, 11??, 11???) of the lines (6) or patterns into the working space (3).

Abstract: A circuit arrangement for organic light-emitting diodes can be arranged in a two-dimensional matrix. It can in particular be used with microdisplays. It can allow a wide influencing of the brightness of the electromagnetic radiation emitted by the organic light-emitting diodes. Every organic light-emitting diode can be controlled by means of a storage circuit, a sense amplifier and a driver circuit using the circuit arrangement. The driver circuit can be formed by at least three transistors connected in series and a further output transistor whose drain is connected to the anode of the respective organic light-emitting diode. In this respect, the transistor acting as the driver can have a constant electric operating voltage LVDD applied at its source and a further likewise constant electric operating voltage Vdrive is applied to its gate.

Abstract: An audio reproduction system is divided into a central wave-field synthesis module and a plurality of loudspeaker modules disposed in a distributed way, wherein synthesis signals for the individual loudspeakers as well as corresponding channel information associated to the synthesis signals are calculated in the central wave-field synthesis module. The synthesis signals for a loudspeaker as well as associated channel information will then be transmitted to respective loudspeaker modules via a transmission path, wherein every loudspeaker module obtains the synthesis signals and associated channel information intended for the loudspeaker associated to the loudspeaker module. A distributed audio rendering and digital/analog converting takes place in the loudspeaker module to generate the actually analog loudspeaker signals in a distributed way in spatial proximity to every loudspeaker.

Abstract: A process for transmitting and/or storing digital signals of multiple chals. This process is suited, in particular, for transmitting the five channels of 3/2 stereophony as well as for transmitting two stereo channels and three additional commentary channels. In this manner, by way of illustration, television programs with multi-language audio signals can be transmitted. This process is distinguished in that by reduction of the to-be-transmitted data, only a bit rate of 384 kbit/s is required for transmission. The reduction of the data is achieved by the K input channels being imaged in segments onto the N.ltoreq.K virtual spectral data channels, by the spectral data channels being quantized, coded, and transmitted taking into consideration the principles of psychoacoustics, and by K output channels being reproduced from the transmitted bit stream with the aid of a transmitted list from the N.ltoreq.K spectral data channels.
