Abstract: A component for detecting electromagnetic radiation comprising a first functional layer, in which at least one first element is embodied by which electromagnetic radiation of a first wavelength range can be detected, with the first functional layer being deposited on one side of the substrate. On the opposite side of the substrate a second functional layer is deposited, in which at least one second element is embodied by which either electromagnetic radiation of a second wavelength range can be detected, with the first functional layer and the substrate being transparent with regards to the electromagnetic radiation of the first wavelength range, or by which the electromagnetic radiation of a second wavelength range can be emitted.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for determining the average radius of gyration (rg) of particles with a size of ?1 ?m in a suspension, and to a device for carrying out the method according to the invention. The method is based on the scattering of linearly polarised electromagnetic radiation on nanoparticles, which, suspended in a solution, are moved through a through-flow cell. The irradiation is carried out perpendicular to the movement direction, wherein the scattering intensity is measured via at least four detectors that are arranged in a defined plane at defined angles. Alternatively, at least one mirror can be used in the position of at least one of the detectors, which deflects the radiation to at least one detector. Based on the scattering intensities, both the average radius of gyration (rg) of the particles as well as the concentration thereof in the suspension can be determined.

Abstract: In the arrangement for determining the achievable adhesive strength before forming a connection having material continuity to a surface of a joining partner, a plurality of detectors are present and arranged that are configured for a spatially resolved spectral analysis of electromagnetic radiation within a wavelength interval and are connected to an electronic evaluation unit. They can detect radiation emitted from a broadband radiation source of a reflection incident on the surface of one of the joining partners, and/or after passing through joining partners transparent for the electromagnetic radiation on the detectors. A laterally and temporally homogeneous intensity of the electromagnetic radiation should be observed in this respect. The joining partner is formed from a material that does not 100% absorb the respective electromagnetic radiation and thus a transmission and/or reflection is possible.

Abstract: According to the invention, an electrolyte is provided for an alkali-sulfur battery. An alkali-sulfur battery is also provided, which contains the electrolyte according to the invention. The electrolyte according to the invention contains a mixture of a sulfone and a fluorine-containing ether in a volume ratio of #1:4 (v:v). Through the use of said electrolyte, the shuttling of polysulfide species from the cathode to the anode can be effectively suppressed, without the use of LiNO3. Through the electrolyte in alkalisulfur batteries, a high coulombic efficiency, long-term stability (low self-discharge) and cycle durability can be achieved even without the use of LiNO3. Coloumbic efficiency, long-term stability and cycle durability can be further improved through the use of a cathode which contains an additive for uniform distribution of polysulfide inside the cathode. In addition, uses of components of the alkali-sulfur battery according to the invention are also disclosed.
