Abstract: In processing a multi-channel audio signal having at least three original channels, a first downmix channel and a second downmix channel are provided, which are derived from the original channels. For a selected original channel, channel side information are calculated such that a downmix channel or a combined downmix channel including the first and the second downmix channels, when weighted using the channel side information, results in an approximation of the selected original channel. The channel side information and the first and second downmix channels form output data for transmission to a decoder. A low level decoder only decodes the first and second downmix channels. A high level decoder provides a full multi-channel audio signal based on the downmix channels and the channel side information.

Abstract: A method for processing an audio signal in accordance with a room impulse response is described. The audio signal is separately processed with an early part and a late reverberation of the room impulse response, and the processed early part of the audio signal and the reverberated signal are combined. A transition from the early part to the late reverberation in the room impulse response is reached when a correlation measure reaches a threshold, the threshold being set dependent on the correlation measure for a selected one of the early reflections in the early part of the room impulse response.

Abstract: The invention presents a stationary phase for detecting at least one specific analyte in a mixture. The stationary phase includes a solid phase divided into a plurality of zones for transporting liquid by capillary force. The solid phase includes at least one first zone suitable for receiving a liquid sample, a second zone on which a receptor is immobilized, wherein the receptor is suitable for binding to a ligand, and a third zone on which quantum dots are immobilized, function as FRET donors and are linked to at least one suitable FRET acceptor via at least one oligonucleotide linker. The stationary phase exhibits improved detection sensitivity and allows simultaneous and multiparametric detection of a wide variety of analytes.
