    Abstract: The shoe construction of the present invention includes an upper and a sole comprised of a lower portion which is mobile with respect to the upper portion, and at least one leaf spring which resiliently resists forces tending to bring closer together the lower and upper portions of the sole. The leaf spring or springs are arranged outside the space taken by the user's foot, and advantageously bend in a manner similar to buckling.
