    Abstract: A tone monitoring apparatus comprises a tone detector arranged to detect, when in use, a tone having a first duration equal to or greater than a predetermined duration. The tone detector is further arranged to select, when in use, a first signal path between a channel input and a channel output, the selection being in response to the first duration of the tone being equal to or greater than the predetermined duration.
