Abstract: Flexible packages for holding and selectively dispensing a liquid therefrom and methods of making those packages. Each package is formed of a flexible material and includes a tap fitment having a generally boat shaped base section sealed between contiguous portions of the package. The fitment includes a valve to enable liquid within the package to be dispensed. The flexible package is arranged to be located within an outer carton, with a portion of the fitment extending out of the carton. The packages can be made on an automated form, fill and seal machine or can be made of precursor packages on an automated fill and seal machine.

Abstract: A flexible package with a snap type reclosure. The reclosure has a male part and a female part affixed to the package near the package opening. When the male part and female part are pressed together by the user they interlock with each other and cause the package opening to be substantially held closed. If desired, the snap reclosure may have a locking feature to deter unauthorized opening of the package. If desired, the snap reclosure may also serve as a vent, allowing air to exchange between the inside and outside of the package.

The glue applicator applies glue (e.g., sprays hot glue) downward onto the first face of the twist-tie as it is advanced onto the carrier.

The plastic face piece is positioned over or alternately inserted through one or more die cut openings in at least one wall or panel of the bag and is bonded to the bag material along the peripheral edges of the die cut opening(s). In one preferred embodiment, the plastic face piece creates a 3-dimensional area that stands out from the package and may resemble a toy, a magnet, or a window to view the product inside the bag.
