Patents Assigned to Fresnius Medical Care Holdings, Inc.
  • Patent number: 10786616
Abstract: The present specification discloses a portable dialysis system comprising a mechanism that allows the user to accurately position an air bubble in a venous line, so that it can be safely removed. When an air bubble is detected, the system automatically runs the blood pump in a direction such that the air bubble is placed close to the extraction point on the venous line, from where it can safely be removed using a needleless syringe.

  • Patent number: 10625011
Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure provide a method for evaluating dialyzers used in different medical applications (e.g., hemodialysis). Red blood cell volume lost in a dialyzer is monitored by obtaining blood flowrate measurements and hematocrit measurements at input ports and output ports of the dialyzer. The flowrate and hematocrit measurements are used to determine an accumulation of red cell blood volume in the dialyzer. The measurements may be obtained in a lab environment with an in-vitro blood source or may be obtained in a clinical setting with an in-vivo blood source from a patient.

  • Patent number: 10154097
Abstract: This disclosure relates to remote control of home dialysis machines, for example, using a network connected system including a network device. In an aspect, a dialysis system includes a network device, a dialysis machine configured to connect to the network device over a network, and a mobile device configured to connect to the network device over the network. The network device is configured for receiving, from the mobile device, through the network, a request to access the dialysis machine, receiving an authorization for the mobile device to access the dialysis machine, and after receiving the authorization, transferring, through the network, between the dialysis machine and the mobile device, information pertaining to one or more of an operation of the dialysis machine or the mobile device.
