  • Patent number: 10555658
Abstract: A mop comprising a mop handle with a grip end and a mopping end and includes spline ribs that surround a surface of the mop handle. The mop includes a ratchet sleeve surrounding the mop handle and is rotatable in first and second directions. The ratchet sleeve includes a flexible collar with an inward-facing integral pawl on an interior portion of the flexible collar. The mop includes a mop head at the mopping end of the mop handle. The mop head has a first end connected to the mopping end and a second end connected to the ratchet sleeve. The flexible collar is flexible between a locked position where the pawl engages with the spline ribs preventing rotation of the ratchet sleeve in the first rotational direction, and an unlocked position where the pawl disengages the spline ribs allowing rotation of the ratchet sleeve in first and second rotational directions.

  • Publication number: 20180042442
Abstract: A mop includes a mop handle with a grip end and a mopping end. A locking cup is disposed on the mopping end. The locking cup includes a cup portion with interior threads and a locking tooth. A mop head is disposed at the mopping end. The mop head connects to a locking cap. The locking cap includes a locking tab configured to engage with the interior threads of the locking cup to allow for selective removal of the mop head from the mop handle and to engage and be retained by the locking tooth when the locking cap is threaded into the locking cup. A biasing element is disposed in the cup portion and contacts the locking cap and generate a bias between the locking cap and the locking cup and urge the locking tab against the locking tooth when the locking cap is threaded into the cup portion.

  • Publication number: 20110185529
Abstract: A cleaning implement includes a joint for attaching the handle to a cleaning end and permitting two opposing sides of the cleaning end to be used to clean a surface. The joint is constructed in a manner that permits the desired movement of the cleaning end, but also utilizes few components and has a structure that permits quick and simple assembly. The cleaning end can include features that enhance its strength and stability. In addition, the cleaning end can include features that enhance the transfer of fluid from one side of the cleaning end to the opposing side of the cleaning end. Further, the cleaning end can include features that promote the drying of a cleaning material attached to the cleaning end after use.

  • Patent number: 7984528
Abstract: A cleaning implement that includes a connector for connecting a handle to a base block. The connector prevents the handle from rotating relative to the base block and, thus, the connector prevents the handle from unscrewing or otherwise loosening or disconnecting from the base block. The base block can include a headpiece supported between oppositely arranged shoulders, a generally cylindrical flange projecting from the headpiece, and a generally cylindrical opening extending through the cylindrical flange. A slot may be formed in an inner surface of the cylindrical flange. A ferrule that can have a generally dovetail-shaped projection provided on its outer surface can be secured to an end of the handle. The projection and the slot can form a joint when the handle is connected to the base block. This joint substantially prevents the handle from rotating relative to the base block.

Abstract: A spray mop comprising a handle, a spray housing, a cleaning end, and a bottle. The spray housing can be coupled to the handle and can include a nozzle. The cleaning end can be coupled to the handle and the spray housing. The bottle can be removeably coupled to the spray housing and can have a body for enclosing a fluid. The body can have a first end and a second end. The bottle can have a shroud disposed at the second end. The shroud can have a support surface for supporting the bottle in an upright position when the bottle has been removed from the spray housing such that the bottle can be filled with a fluid at the first end. The spray mop may have a pump mechanism with a reload spring disposed outside of a fluid chamber. The nozzle can be removeable from the spray housing.
