  • Patent number: 5665148
Abstract: An adsorption air filter has a self-supporting shaped structure of adsorber particles of regular or irregular form, which are joined to one another by binder particles also of regular or irregular form. The melting range of the binder particles is less than that of the adsorber particles, and the binder particles are smaller than the adsorber particles. The adsorber particles have an average size of 100 to 7000 .mu.m. The three-dimensional structure of the air filter has substantially repeating units of one adsorber particle and one binder particle, without the presence of agglomerates. The binder must not spread over the adsorber surface below 100.degree. C. In the production method, adsorber and binder particles are mixed with water and heated in a closed mold under pressure; the water is then driven off and the shaped element is allowed to cool.

  • Patent number: 5616395
Abstract: A process for the production of a two-layer textile reinforcement for the production of bituminous sealing sheets for roofing consists first, from a first layer based on nonwoven cloth, in consolidating this nonwoven cloth by mechanical or hydraulic bonding and in thermostabilizing it. This first consolidated and thermostabilized layer is then assembled with a second mineral fiber layer, either by counter-gluing, or by needling, or by seam knitting. These two latter assembly methods are used only when the second mineral fiber layer is in the form of a grid or cloth of continuous or discontinuous mineral filaments. The first assembly method by counter-gluing is itself used no matter what the structure of the second mineral filament layer, whether it be in the form of a grid or a cloth of continuous or discontinuous mineral fibers or in the form of a scrim of mineral fibers.

  • Patent number: 5591466
Abstract: A core ring assembly for use in production of a plastic injection-molded component is formed by injecting molten metal alloy into core dies to produce two intricately shaped ring type elements--one male, one female. Removing the male and female ring elements from the core dies and combining the two elements in an assembly machine to form a uniform, geometrically symmetrical, integral core ring assembly. The core ring assembly is transported to a plastic molding machine for overmolding the core ring assembly with either thermosetting or thermoplastic material. Then, the core assembly is melted out from the plastic component in a hot oil bath or induction melt-out, and the molten alloy recovered thereby is returned to a molten metal alloy tank for reuse.
