  • Publication number: 20030168853
Abstract: A device for connecting components (1, 2, 3) made of fusible plastic, especially pipes (12, 60) of a fuel pipeline or a fuel line to a fuel tank (8) of a vehicle. The device includes a heating element (4) having ends (44, 46) which are used to supply electrical energy. The device is easy to use, simple to mount, and produces a functionally reliable welded joint between the components (1, 2, 3). To achieve this, one component (3) includes a retaining body (16) for a retaining tool (50), and the two ends (44, 46) of the heating element (4) extend onto the retaining body (16) where they can engage contact elements (56, 57) on the retaining tool (50).

  • Publication number: 20030136445
Abstract: A tapping valve having a housing which can be electrically welded to a pipe and which includes a connection piece (2) with a drill (24) therein for drilling the pipe. The connection piece has an inner surface (34). The drill or a bushing (70) in which the drill can be moved axially by a threaded connection (74, 76; 80, 82) is provided with an external thread which engages the inner surface of the connection piece. Inner surface (34) is constructed such that it is initially cylindrical adjacent the external thread (32) and an inner thread can be formed in the inner surface (34) using the external thread (32) by rotating the drill (24) or the thread (70) in an axially forward direction (30). The tapping valve is easy to manufacture and yet offers a high degree of functional reliability.

  • Patent number: 6199870
Abstract: A seal for a shut-off device moved in a rectilinear manner, which is switched from a closed to an open position and vice versa so as to shut off material flows. The seal is formed of metallic components which define a pressure chamber to which external pressure can be applied to achieve seal tightness. Employing only metallic components makes it possible to use the seal in a wide temperature range and under conditions of exceptional wear caused by either frequent actuation or the composition of the flowing medium. The sealing system includes a shut-off device (1) against which a movable seat (5) forms a seal. The seat is connected to the tubular casing (2) in a pressure tight manner, and the casing in turn is connected to a flange (3). The assembly is connected to a housing (8) by a flange (6) and is sealed by seal (7). Membranes (9, 10) and support plate (14) form a pressure chamber (11) to which pressure Ps is applied through connecting nipple (13) and bores (12).

  • Patent number: 6146581
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a ceramic component including at least one cermet body, especially a cermet electrode, in which the costs are reduced and the ceramic component can be produced in accordance with requirements with an integrated cermet body in a reproducible manner. The cermet body initially is produced as a green compact; the cermet body then is inserted into the ceramic composition; the ceramic composition subsequently is consolidated together with the green compact cermet body, e.g. by pressing, and the resulting assembly is finally sintered.

  • Patent number: 5990462
Abstract: A welding collar contains a collar body of fusible plastic and a heater coil, disposed in its inside surface, which is spaced apart from a free collar end by a front zone. This welding collar is improved in that pipelines with ends which are not precisely cylindrical, and especially pipelines made from material in rolls, can be welded in a problem-free and reliable manner. The sum of the length of the front zone and the axial length of an inner zone adjoining the heater coil, with which the inserted pipe comes in contact, is at least approximately equal to the length of the heater coil. The insertion depth is greater by at least a factor of 1.4 than the inside diameter of the collar body.

  • Patent number: 5975117
Abstract: A pipe tapping valve which can be connected, for example by welding, with a pipe which is to be tapped, and which includes a support stub (4) in which a drill bit (26) is disposed for axial movement, and with which a branch nipple (12) is connected. The pipe tapping valve is configured so that the drilling of the tube can be safely performed with little difficulty, while a seal satisfying the requirements of the particular application is provided both during the drilling and after the drilling has ended. The support stub (4) has a substantially smooth cylindrical inside surface; the drill bit (26) contains at its upper free end an expansion (30) or a sealing ring (54) in contact with the inner surface (34) of the support stub (4), and the drill bit (26) is axially movable by means of a drilling tool (36) attachable to the support stub (4).

  • Patent number: 5921588
Abstract: A push-in coupling for pipes contains a sleeve body (2) and a holding means, especially with a clamping body (6), for connecting a pipe end (3, 4) to the sleeve body (2). This push-in coupling permits proper handling with little effort during assembly, and insofar as possible prevents the danger of faulty assembly. A sliding body (50) is disposed within the sleeve body (2), the sliding body (50) being made independently of the holding means. The sliding body (50) contains a striker (52) which upon insertion of the pipe end (3, 4) is pushed over an edge (60), and upon reaching a given depth of insertion of the pipe end (3, 4) strikes against a surface (62) producing a detectable signal such as an acoustical signal and/or a vibration signal.

  • Patent number: 5685886
Abstract: An apparatus for scrubbing or washing a gas having a chamber, which is partially filled with a washing liquid, and into which the gas to be washed flows and the washing liquid is sprayed by a rotatable device for pumping liquid from the chamber and spraying the liquid into the chamber. The apparatus has a compact construction and requires only a small surface on which to stand, but nevertheless provides for low pressure losses. The chamber is composed of first and second chamber parts which are arranged next to one another and are separated by a partition arranged between them so as to project from above at least partially into the washing liquid in the chamber, the two chamber parts being connected with one another in a deflection area above the liquid.

  • Patent number: 5328371
Abstract: A dental implant comprising an implant body which can be anchored in the jawbone and a superstructure portion which can be inserted at least partially in a recess of the implant body and which is fixed in place by a holding screw. The recess in the implant body is provided with a first contact surface and the superstructure portion is provided with an associated second contact surface for securing the superstructure against rotation relative to the implant body in a durable and functionally reliable manner such that play between the implant body and the superstructure is avoided. The superstructure portion is provided with at least one slot extending from its free end to the vicinity of the second contact surface and with a tapered portion disposed radially inwardly of the contact surfaces.
