    Abstract: A mounting bracket for a hand shower having a support stem has a support adapted to be stationarily fixed, a holder formed with a forked seat shaped to receive the hand-shower stem, and interengaging formations on the holder and support for pivoting of the holder on the support about a normally horizontal axis while retaining the holder and support against relative axial movement. An array of radially extending ridges formed on the support, surrounding the axis, and projecting toward the holder engage with complementary ridges formed on a flange of a retaining element rotationally coupled to the holder. A locking bolt axially fixed in the support axially presses the retaining-element ridges against the support ridges so that the holder can be pivoted about the axis on the support with elastic deformation of the flange.

    Abstract: An escutcheon used with a plumbing fixture that is recessed in a wall and that has a part projecting through the wall itself has a plate shaped to fit around the part flatly against the wall and formed offset from the part with a throughgoing hole. Structure fixed relative to the fixture forms a throughgoing hole offset from the part snugly receiving a radially expansible anchor tube also extending through the plate hole and having an enlarged head lying against an outer face of the plate. A screw engaged in the tube radially expands same into tight engagement with the structure hole.

    Abstract: A releasable fast-action coupling has a female part formed centered on an axis with an axially outwardly open bore having a smooth-walled inner portion of predetermined diameter and an outer portion of somewhat greater diameter and formed with an internal screwthread. A male tube part having an end engageable in the bore has an inner portion engageable in the inner bore portion and formed with a radially outwardly open groove, an outer portion engageable in the outer bore portion when the inner tube portion is in the inner bore portion and formed with a radially outwardly open groove, and a radially outwardly projecting ridge axially inwardly engaging the bore shoulder when the tube part is fitted in the bore. An elastic seal ring seated in the groove of the tube inner portion radially outwardly engages the bore inner portion when the tube part is fitted in the bore.

    Abstract: A thermostatically regulated mixing valve having a housing extending along an axis and a stem in the housing axially displaceable to adjust the thermostatically regulated temperature of the valve has a control assembly with a nut threaded on the housing, axially linked to the valve stem, and rotatable about the axis in one direction to move axially inward and move the stem axially inward and rotatable in the opposite direction to move axially outward and move the stem axially outward. An abutment sleeve is fixed to the valve housing and a sleevelike knob engages over the nut and abutment sleeve and is formed with an inwardly projecting stop. Splines on the knob and on the nut rotationally couple same together but permit relative axial movement so that the knob rotates with the nut but does not move axially therewith.

The housing also is formed with respective passages connecting the apertures with the respective sets of nozzles. One of the elements is provided with a restriction formation for progressive restriction of the outlet hole from a fully open to fully closed condition on rotation of the valve element through a predetermined angular stroke.

The assembly has a nut threaded on the housing, axially linked to the valve stem, and rotatable about the axis in one direction to move axially inward and move the stem axially inward and rotatable in the opposite direction to move axially outward and move the stem axially outward. An abutment sleeve engageable over the valve housing is formed with a radially outwardly open passage and interengaging formations on the abutment sleeve and valve housing rotationally couple same together. The housing is formed in the sleeve with a radially outwardly open groove level with the passage and a clip engages through the passage with the groove and axially couples the sleeve to the valve housing.

    Abstract: A backflow preventer used in combination with a valve that normally supplies water under pressure to a feed conduit and with an outlet device having a supply hose to which water is normally supplied under pressure has a housing forming a generally closed chamber and formed with an inlet port connected with the feed conduit and opening into the chamber, an outlet port connected to the hose and opening into the chamber directly underneath the inlet port, and a vent port having an outside exposed to ambient air and forming substantially the only direct passage between the chamber and an ambient atmosphere around the housing. A check valve in the vent port only permits flow through the port into the chamber so that air can be drawn into the chamber through the vent port when pressure in the chamber is below ambient pressure. A nozzle fitted to the inlet port directed downward along a vertical axis into the outlet port forms therewith a jet pump for transferring water from the inlet port to the outlet port.
