The code may include a device identifier associated with a first device. The method may include receiving a request from a second device that scanned the code. The method may include receiving metadata received in response to input at the second device in response to determining that a proximity of the first device to the second device satisfies a threshold using network information. The method may include modifying the electronic document based on the metadata.
