Patents Assigned to Fritz Gegauf AG Bernina-Naehmaschinenfabrik
  • Patent number: 4416208
Abstract: An auxiliary device for sewing machines comprises tappets and switches in the coupling parts of the presser foot shaft. The tappets are arranged in accordance with a determined code and they activate a combination of the switches. The switches are connected to an electronic circuit in which the coded information relative to the presser foot is compared with information characterizing the set up of the machine for a desired sewing operation. A display is activated for indicating if both sets of information coincide or do not coincide with each other so that the user knows if the correct presser foot is inserted.

  • Patent number: 4343256
Abstract: A sewing machine having a torsion spring coupling between drive and machine shaft. An engageable catch pawl acts on a stop element connected to the drive, which stop element is connected to the drive side of the coupling spring of the drive. If the catch pawl is engaged with the machine in operation and the stop element is blocked, the coupling spring is released and hence the coupling disengaged. The motor may then run down while the motor shaft is stopped resiliently in a predetermined position via the coupling spring which simultaneously the coupling spring prevents excessive forces from occurring due to inertia and excess stressing. Hence this construction permits the motor to be stopped rapidly from full operation with simple means.

  • Patent number: 4331089
Abstract: The device for simplification of adjustment and set-up of a sewing machine comprises a keyboard allowing introduction of information relating to the sewing operation to be performed to the material to be sewn and the like. The information introduced are applied to addresses of memory means, and data relating to the adjustment and set-up of the sewing machine are transmitted to adjusting means and displays illustrating set-up and adjustment. The sewing machine is automatically adjusted and may be set-up by the operator in accordance with the setting-up data indicated on displays provided on the sewing machine. In this way, adjustment and setting-up of the sewing machine is rendered easy and reliable.

  • Patent number: 4292905
Abstract: The device discussed herein which is preferably a separate auxiliary unit, is equipped with a keyboard for entry of sewing conditions such as material type and sewing operation. Data is entered in an electronic memory which contains instructions for sewing machine adjustment and set-up. These instructions are clearly indicated at certain points on the device or preferably on the sewing machine for the most part so that sewing machine adjustment and set-up can be performed without special previous knowledge. In this connection, it is possible to supply clear instructions for a great number of data combinations directly at the points of the sewing machine where adjustment and set-up occur.
