  • Patent number: 5722227
Abstract: In the case of a shaft for an open-end spinning rotor, a supporting element arranged at a step bearing extends the shaft. The supporting element is arranged centrical to the axis of the shaft. The supporting element is affixed to the shaft by means of a separate holding part, which engages with the circumferential surface of the shaft to enable in a simple way, an exact axial and radial positioning of the supporting element on the shaft.

  • Patent number: 5709074
Abstract: An opening roller for an open-end spinning arrangement includes a combing ring which is slipped onto a base body and supported between two clamping surfaces. The combing ring is provided with centering surfaces at the end areas of its inner circumference. It is slipped with one of the centering surfaces onto a correspondingly formed guiding surface of the base body with a light sliding fit. The other centering surface serves to center a lid-like clamping member which comprises one of the two clamping surfaces. The clamping member is preferably provided with centering ribs, whose outer contour diameter is adapted to the relevant centering surface of the combing ring. The clamping member is attached to the base body, or to a component (shaft of the opening roller) connected thereto in such a way that sufficient radial displacement for centering at the combing ring is possible.

  • Patent number: 5704096
Abstract: In the case of a drafting arrangement for a spinning machine, at least one drafting zone has a sliver guide with a guiding surface for the travelling sliver. The sliver guide is arranged in a wedge-shaped gap, which is formed by a roller pair downstream of the drafting zone. According to the present invention, the sliver guide comprises a sliver brake with a pressing element which slides on the sliver. The pressing element is resilient with a pressure in the direction towards the guiding surface, and is disposable against the travelling sliver. The evenness of the drafting is thereby improved.

  • Patent number: 5692367
Abstract: A device is disclosed for damping the vibrations of a package on spinning, twisting or winding machines. Damping elements act on the swivel-mounted package holders, which damping elements are arranged on the machine frame and which are effective on the swivel direction of the package holders. The package holders are supported with tube sections on a swivel axle which is secured to the machine, and support the packages, which are pressed onto a driving roller and are rotatably supported thereon. In the swivel direction in which the packages are lifted from the drive roller, the damping is greater than in the swivel direction in which the packages are pressed onto the drive roller. The cylindrical outer contour of each individual tube section is surrounded, at a predetermined angle of contact, by a close fitting brake belt which is actuated by friction. One end of the brake belt is secured in a non-movable way on a stationary mounting, while the other end is secured to a loading spring.

  • Patent number: 5676322
Abstract: In order to form a yarn reserve winding on the edge of a rotating empty winder tube after a doffing action on a package-producing spinning aggregate, the rotational speed of a drive roller which drives the winder tube is kept constant. The delivery speed of a delivery device, which draws the yarn from the spinning aggregate and delivers it to the winder tube, can be regulated. The yarn tension between the delivery device and the winder tube is thus kept constant during the forming of the yarn reserve winding as well as during and after the transfer of the yarn to a traversing device.

  • Patent number: 5642611
Abstract: In the case of a mounting for an opening roller comprising a plurality of teeth, all the tooth faces and the tooth backs are inclined in rotational direction. At their tips, the tooth faces form an angle relative to an opening roller radial plane of between 10.degree. and 30.degree. . The tooth backs are more inclined to the radial plane at the tooth tips than at the tooth bases. The tooth backs are inclined at the tooth tips in such a way that an extension of the tangent to the tooth back at the tooth tip intersects the tooth face of the following tooth at an intersecting point which is between one-fifth and four-fifths of the tooth height of the following tooth. At least one-half of a tooth height from the tooth tip to the tooth base has a roller circumferential direction width which is at least as large as the distance between the back of the respective tooth and the face of a next adjacent following tooth.

  • Patent number: 5566541
Abstract: An opening roller for an open-end spinning device is provided with a fitting of combing teeth. The fitting comprises zones with reduced, or entirely without, combing-out effect. The zones with reduced or entirely without combing-out effect are so designed and arranged relative to the combing teeth on the fitting that the fibers are combed out evenly of the sliver. A careful treatment of the fibers without a variation in yarn evenness is hereby achieved.

  • Patent number: 5423176
Abstract: In the case of an opening roller ring member for spinning machines, teeth are integral with a ring-formed base body, the teeth being bounded by notches which extend essentially in axial direction, and by grooves which extend essentially in circumferential direction. The grooves are deeper than the notches. The lateral flanks of the teeth extend towards the tooth tip with a slope angle towards the radial line. The slope angle of the lateral flanks is smaller than the slope angle of the continuous lateral walls of the grooves, at least in the area of the teeth tips. There is a bend in the slope angle of the side walls of the grooves where the side walls join the slope angle of the lateral flanks, whereby the bend edge either coincides with the transition of the side walls into the lateral flanks, or is situated in the area of the lateral flanks.

  • Patent number: 5402952
Abstract: In the case of a tube coupling system for a spinning or twisting spindle, in the case of which cap-type buttons project away from the outer circumference and come to rest against the interior wall of the tube, it is provided to place in the hollow spaces formed by the cap-type buttons one body respectively with a given mass. Because of the centrifugal force exercised by the massive bodies, the buttons are pressed toward the outside during the rotation of the spindle and come to rest against the interior wall of the tube. During the stoppage of the spindle, no radial force is operative in the case of the tube coupling system so that an axial displacement of the tube, particularly the removal of a full package and the fitting of a new tube, are possible without the resistance of the tube coupling system.

  • Patent number: 5381651
Abstract: For the monitoring of the lap formation in the case of delivery bottom rollers of drafting units, sensing elements are provided which, when a lap is formed, as a result of the enlarged diameter at the delivery bottom roller, are moved radially away from this delivery bottom roller. The sensing elements are used as switching elements for an electric circuit to which a number of sensing elements, and preferably all sensing elements of the spinning machine, are assigned. When a lap is formed, the assigned electric contact is opened by the shifting movement of the sensing element so that the electric circuit is interrupted. The interruption of the electric circuit causes the triggering of a signal.

  • Patent number: 5375406
Abstract: A spinning arrangement in which the working elements for the processing of fiber material are arranged within an adjustable climate-controlled zone. The climate-controlled zone can be adjusted in such a manner that the fiber material fed to the working elements has the tendency to supply humidity to the ambient air of the climate-controlled zone. Before the feeding, particularly when deposited in a can or on a roving bobbin and/or on the transport path to the working elements, the fiber material is surrounded by air whose climate differs from the climate in the adjustable climate-controlled zone of the working elements. During the processing, the fed fiber material and the working elements are each in a different climatic condition that is optimal for the processing.

  • Patent number: 5359842
Abstract: A spinning or twisting bearing assembly for supporting a spinning or twisting shaft is disclosed. The bearing assembly includes a spindle shaft neck bearing having roller bodies engageable with the spindle shaft at a first axial location above a step bearing assembly for supporting the bottom end of the spindle shaft. The neck bearing and step bearing assembly are disposed in a bearing housing. An outer housing is disposed to surround the bearing housing with an annular gap therebetween along a substantial length of the bearing housing. The outer housing is fixedly clamped to a spindle rail. In order to isolate sound causing vibrations from the roller bodies of the neck bearing, the bearing housing is clamped to the outer housing only at a position below the bearing housing.
