Abstract: An electrical connector includes: an insulating housing; plural terminals held on the insulating housing, the terminals are arranged in terminal pairs for transmitting differential signals; and plural shielding sheets held on the insulating housing, each of the shielding sheets includes: at least two walls shielding the terminal pair in at least two directions, and plural elastic pieces extending from the at least two walls in order to cooperate with a mating connector; wherein the elastic pieces of each shielding sheet include an inner elastic piece protruding toward an associated terminal pair and an outer elastic piece protruding away from the associated terminals pair.

Abstract: An electrical connector includes: a housing; and plurality terminal groups held on the housing, each terminal group including a pair of signal terminals, a first shielding sheet for shielding the pair of signal terminals on at least one side, and a second shielding sheet for shielding the signal terminals on at least another side; wherein the first shielding sheet and the second shielding sheet of each terminal group are electrically connected, and the first shielding sheet of one of the terminal groups is electrically connected to the second shielding sheet of an adjacent terminal group.

Abstract: An electrical connector includes an insulative elongated housing, and a plurality of contacts retained to the housing. The housing includes a base extending along the longitudinal direction and a mating tongue extending forwardly from the base in a front-to-back direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction. Each contact includes a contacting/mating section exposed upon the mating tongue. The contacts include a plurality of differential-pair signal contacts and a plurality of grounding contacts alternately arranged with each other along the longitudinal direction. Each differential-pair signal contact is associated with a metallic wiping piece in front with a tiny gap so as to have the distance between the rear end of the contacting section and the front edge of the wiping piece is still equal to 3.9 mm which is regulated by the industry standard specification as a full length of the contacting section of the traditional contact.

The connection module includes a pair of contact modules commonly sandwiching a grounding module therebetween in the transverse direction. Each contact module includes a plurality of contacts integrally formed within the corresponding insulative wafer via insert-molding. The grounding module includes a grounding plate embedded within an insulative wafer. The grounding plate forms a plurality of fingers respectively electrically and mechanically connecting to the corresponding grounding contacts of the contact modules. The wafer forms a plurality of transverse grooves to receive corresponding grounding bars each having a plurality of inward parts respectively mechanically and electrically connecting to the grounding plate, and a plurality of outward parts respectively mechanically and electrically connecting to the grounding contacts of the contact modules.

A plurality of contacts are disposed in the corresponding passageways, respectively. Each contact includes a retaining section retained in the corresponding passageway, a resilient contacting section extending from the retaining section and into the mating cavity, and a leg extending from the retaining section and downwardly through the bottom cover. A waterproofing glue plate is attached upon the bottom cover, and the legs of the contacts extend through the glue plate. The housing includes a base and a mating tongue forwardly extending from the base. The contacts are arranged with two rows contacting sections respectively exposed upon two opposite surfaces of the mating tongue, and one row mounting sections for mounting to a same plane of a printed circuit board. Each contact has a linking section between the contacting section and the mounting section. The contacts are grouped by one grounding contact associated with a pair of neighboring differential pair signal contacts in an isosceles triangular configuration wherein the grounding contact is located at the top apex. The linking section of grounding contact of the outermost group is widened compared with those of the remaining contacts for lowering the corresponding impedance.

The housing includes a base having opposite first and second surface in a vertical direction, and a set of first side walls extending from the first surface to form a first mating cavity. Each contact includes a retention section extending through the base, a first extending section located in the first mating cavity and including a first bending section. The set of first side walls forms, adjacent to the first surface, a first recess communicating with the first mating cavity so as to expose a portion of the first extending section in the first recess. A waterproof glue occupies the first recess and a bottom portion of the first mating cavity so as to surround the exposed portions of the first extending sections of the contact for assuring sealing of the adaptor.

The first connector includes a first shell forming a first mating surface thereon. A retractable first contact has a first contacting section moveable between an outer position coplanar with the first mating surface and an inner position recessed from the first mating surface. The second connector includes a second shell forming a second mating surface thereon. A stationary second contact has a second contacting section protruding beyond the second mating surface. During mating, the second contacting section abuts against the first contacting section in the mating direction and protrudes beyond the first mating surface to be snugly received within the first connector.
