Abstract: In a handwriting recognition method applied in an electronic device with touch screen and display screen, a handwriting input area and a handwriting display area are shown on a touch screen when a handwriting command is given. The handwriting of a complete or partial word in the handwriting input area is recognized and displayed and a new handwriting input area can be added when a preset slide operation is applied that the tracing of a handwritten character collides with a boundary of the input area. Handwriting in the new handwriting input area is recognized and displayed and the content of the original handwriting input area and of the new handwriting input area are combined to form a complete word when the handwriting input is finished. The complete word is then displayed.

Abstract: A positional stop device includes a base body, a lever, a driving element, and a retaining member. The lever is rotatablely arranged on the base body, a first end of the lever couples to the driving element, and a second end of the lever couples to the retaining member. The driving element is partially exposed out of the base body. The retaining member is moveablely received in the base body. When the slider of a pneumatic rodless cylinder slides along a first direction, the driving element is driven by the slider to move along a second direction and be fully received in the base body. The lever is driven by the driving element to rotate around the base body. The retaining member is driven by the lever to move along a third direction and to be partially exposed out of the base body to stops the slider from sliding.

Abstract: A computing device and a method processes a point cloud of an object. The computing device constructs a curved surface according to the point cloud and triangulates the curved surface using a plurality of triangles. The computing device simulates each marked adjacent point and neighborhood points to a predetermined surface using a predetermined algorithm. The computing device projects each marked adjacent point onto a predetermined surface to obtain a projected point according to the type of the marked adjacent point.

Abstract: A dynamic map-type graphic interface includes a number of user interface (UI) components. Each UI component is associated with one corresponding application program of the electronic device. The dynamic map-type graphic interface is a single-layer graphic interface made up of the UI components spliced together and around the center of the dynamic map-type graphic interface. A selection box to select the UI components is controlled to determine the different UI components of the dynamic map-type graphic interface via the input unit.

Abstract: A positioning device includes a support member configured to carry a workpiece, a plurality of pins positioned on the support member, and a plurality of telescoping mechanisms positioned on the support member. Each of the telescoping mechanisms comprises a driving member and a rotating member connected to the driving member. The positioning pins slidably pass through the support member and are pivotably connected to an opposite end of the rotating member. The rotating member rotates relative to the support member via the driving member to adjust an extending length of the positioning pins relative to the support member.

Abstract: In a method for simplifying point clouds of an object using a computing device, a point cloud of the object is obtained from a scanning device connected to the computing device, and the point cloud is meshed into triangulated grids. The triangulated grids are selected from the point cloud, and a number of simplification passes to simplify the triangulated grids is received from an input device. The triangulated grids of triangles are classified according to a shape of each grid and a location of each grid in the point cloud. Each type of triangulated grid is simplified to obtain simplified grids by performing a loop triangular grid function with the number of simplification passes. The simplified grids are smoothed and the cloud model of the object can be displayed.

Abstract: An electronic device and a method generate a first model and a second model when the images presented by the electronic device are viewed by a user located at a reference location. The electronic device obtains an image of the user captured by a camera of the electronic device when the user views the images presented by the electronic device. The electronic device generates a third model according to the image of the user. The electronic device adjusts the images presented by the electronic device when the third model does not match the first model.

Abstract: A method for simplifying a mesh point cloud includes following steps: obtaining a point cloud and meshing the point cloud so that the point cloud is formed with a plurality of triangular grids; calculating a distance between a vertex of the triangular grid and its corresponding normal plane to determine an influence of the vertex to a geometric characteristic of the mesh point cloud; deleting the vertexes and the grids in connection therewith in accordance with a predetermined degree of simplification, wherein the deleted vertexes are those which have less influence to the geometric characteristic of the mesh point cloud; creating triangular grids to fill the void part in accordance with Delaunay triangulation; and smoothening the created grids.

Abstract: A method for pausing a video during playback in an electronic device includes detecting that a video playing interface within a first user interface is covered by a second user interface, upon such detection, calculating a coverage ratio of the second user interface to the video playing interface, and determining that the coverage ratio is greater than a predetermined value, upon such determination, pausing the playing of the video.

Abstract: A method for managing application programs is provided. The method includes acquiring whether a daemonic application program is running in an operating system, collecting a memory occupancy of the daemonic application program periodically within a time period upon finding a daemonic application program; determining whether the daemonic application program is in a long-term standby status according to the memory occupancy of the daemonic application program, and closing the daemonic application program when the daemonic application program is in a long-term standby status. An application program management system is also provided.

Abstract: A method for managing an incoming call includes sending a first predetermined voice message to a caller when a fixed-line telephone receives the incoming call from the caller, capturing an image of a predetermined scene range of the fixed-line telephone when the incoming call is determined to be calling for the owner of the fixed-line telephone, sending prompt information to at least one mobile device when the owner of the fixed-line telephone is not detected, performing a corresponding function according to a selected operation of an owner of the at least one mobile device.

Abstract: An communications method for intercommunication by multiple electronic devices includes determining an on or off status of a first communication device, the first communication device being given master status if turned on and being used, and other devices being given slave status. If one other device is then used in preference to the first communication device, the other device is appointed as master and all other devices which are turned on are appointed as slaves. According to current state of the first communication device, the first communication device is turned off if not being used.

Abstract: An over-loading protection pressing device adapted for pressing an object includes a housing, a pressing head and a protection portion. The housing has a clamping portion fixed thereon. The pressing head protrudes from the housing, and the pressing head is configured for pressing the object. The earphone assembly communicates with a portable electronic device of tourists, and the portable electronic device downloads the scenic spot introduction information from the server. The earphone assembly includes a reading module and a transmission module. The reading module reads the identification number from the RFID tag. The transmission module sends the identification number to the portable electronic device. The scenic spot introduction information corresponding to the identification number of the predetermined area is played or displayed on the portable electronic device.
