    Abstract: A lens-fitted photographic film unit has a flash device for emitting a flash of light. A charge switch is adapted to bring the flash device into an on-state, either by rotation of a film advancing wheel, or when a shutter device is cocked. When the flash device is in the on-state, a main capacitor is charged so as to allow emission of a flash of light. In a preferred embodiment, the charge switch is initially turned on so as to keep the flash device in the on-state. In another preferred embodiment, the flash device is in the on-state while the charge switch is on, and is in the off-state while the charge switch is off, in response to the shutter device. When the lens-fitted photographic film unit is contained in a wrapper, an insulating tape is inserted between a positive electrode of the battery and a contact segment.

    Abstract: A light beam scanning system has a sheet holding member which is provided with a concave cylindrical sheet support surface on which a recording sheet is supported. A suction box draws the recording sheet against the sheet support surface by suction. A spinner has a light deflector mirror which reflects a scanning light beam on the central axis of the cylindrical sheet support surface toward the recording sheet on the sheet support surface and a condenser lens system which converges the reflected scanning light beam on the recording sheet. The light deflector mirror and the condenser lens system are integrally rotated about the central axis to cause the scanning light beam to scan the recording sheet in a main scanning direction. A sub-scanning mechanism moves the sheet holding member in a sub-scanning direction parallel to the central axis relative to the spinner.

The magazine can also include a retractable sensing member having a surface adapted to abut against a magnetic disc pack.

    Abstract: An apparatus for feed-in and ejection of a chemical analysis slide comprises an incubator having compartments for housing chemical analysis slides placed side by side in a transverse direction. A conveying device conveys the chemical analysis slide to a position facing one of the inlet openings, and a slide feed-in device, provided with slide feed-in protrusions facing the inlet openings, extends along the rear end face of the incubator. One of the slide feed-in protrusions is caused by forward movement of the slide feed-in device, to contact a rear edge of the chemical analysis slide conveyed to the position facing the inlet opening and to feed the chemical analysis slide into the compartment.

Both sample holders are initially irradiated with radiant energy before disposing the sample material thereon to heat the sample holders and thereby develop electric output reference signals. The amount of radiant energy being irradiated on at least one of the sample holders is then selectively adjusted to effectively compensate for any difference between the two reference signals.
