  • Patent number: 5319449
Abstract: A white balance control device for a video camera is provided to reduce an occurrence percentage and the degree of color failure, improve the quality of reproduced color and prevent flicker from occurring so that a photograph may be taken properly. A first microcomputer detects a brightness of an object and a condition of a divided light measurement judged from an open degree of an iris. The first microcomputer outputs white balance control signals Rcont and Bcont for equalizing the values of color difference signals R-Y and B-Y to reference values. A white balance control circuit changes the amplification degrees of an elementary red signal R and an elementary blue signal B. When a brightness of an object becomes higher than the previous memorized value and a mode of a divided light measurement is changed, values of white balance control signals Rcont and Bcont are changed. At the other times, the values of the white balance control signals Rcont and Bcont are fixed.

  • Patent number: 5247313
Abstract: A direct color thermal printing method records a full-color image containing black characters on a thermosensitive color recording medium having three laminated thermosensitive recording layers. Three color components of each pixel are sequentially read out from three color frame memories. If all of the three color components of a pixel correspond to the maximum densities, that pixel is determined to be printed in black, and is stored as black pixel data in a black line buffer memory. When recording the black pixels, a thermal head is driven to apply a predetermined maximum amount of head energy to the thermosensitive color recording medium, for simultaneously coloring the three thermosensitive recording layers in accordance with the black pixel data.

  • Patent number: 5232294
Abstract: A printer has a recording head with a first plurality of recording elements being disposed in a main scan direction. The recording head records the first plurality of pixels on a recording sheet at a time. Each pixel has a second plurality of sub-lines disposed in a sub scan direction, and the number of dot-recorded sub-lines changes with tonal steps. A shift register has the first plurality.times.8-bit latches for latching sequentially inputted first plurality of image data as parallel data. The M image data are sent via a latch array to a comparator array, and set to respective the first plurality.times.8-bit magnitude comparators constituting the comparator array. A counter is incremented each time a platen drum holding a recording sheet is rotated by a one sub-line amount, and the position of each sub-line within one pixel is detected. Each 8-bit magnitude comparator maintains each recording element in a conduction enabled state until a count of the counter exceeds the contents of the image data.
