  • Patent number: 6690412
Abstract: If a remote control pan head on which a TV camera is mounted is installed on the rooftop of a building for example, the TV camera shoots an image in which a part of the building appears. If an operator designates a point on the outline of the building within the image shot by the camera, an image processing apparatus can automatically determine the outline continuing from the designated point. Then, a shooting range restricting device controls the pan head to restrict changeable ranges of a shooting direction and a shooting angle of view of the camera according to the determined outline of the building so that the shot image can be prevented from being spoiled by the building.

  • Patent number: 6685631
Abstract: To provide an electronic endoscope system provided with an objective optical system for optically magnifying an image to be observed by using a variable power lens and an electronic zoom IC circuit for electronically magnifying an image obtained by a CCD. A depth of field at the time of switching between optical variable power and electronic variable power is set at an arbitrary value by key operation etc. of a control panel of a processor. When the depth of field becomes a setting value, for example, 16 mm (lens position before Near end), during the operation of optical variable power based on the operation of a variable power switch, electronic variable power is executed by the electronic zoom IC circuit. Thereby, an enlarged image in which the depth of a subject to be observed with irregularities is properly in focus can be obtained.

  • Patent number: 6684044
Abstract: A light source lamp socket of an image reader is formed to be capable of being placed as close to a platen glass as possible to increase the intensity of light beams to be irradiated on a original. A part of each of lamp socket attached on the both ends of a lamp tube of a light source lamp, which faces a platen glass, is cut-away into the shape of one or more flat surfaces such that a part of the lamp tube is exposed from a part of such a flat portion. Therefore, the light source lamp can be move closer to the platen glass a distance corresponding to the depth of the cut-away section of the lamp socket.

  • Patent number: 6681078
Abstract: In the distance measuring apparatus, a passive AF sensor is used in which signals outputted from cells of a pair of line sensors are integrated for each cell to generate sensor data and an integration start signal is outputted upon start of integration, and when the peak value of the sensor data reaches an integration end value, an integration end signal is outputted. If the integration end signal is not outputted even after predetermined time elapses after integration is started in the AF sensor, the peak value of the sensor data is read to determine whether the integration is normally carried out. If the integration is not normally carried out, it is determined that distance measurement is impossible. If the integration is normally carried out, the sensor data is acquired from the AF sensor to carry out distance measurement thereby lessening the likelihood that it is determined that distance measurement is impossible more than necessary.

Abstract: In the zoom lens apparatus, a lens frame for a variable-magnification lens or a correcting lens is configured of an inner frame and an outer frame, and any focus blurring due to variations in wavelength of subject light can be compensated for accurately by shifting the inner frame holding the lens relative to the outer frame. The correcting lens frame for the correcting lens is configured of the inner frame and the outer frame, and the inner frame is shifted according to variations in wavelength of subject light. Any focus blurring can be thereby compensated for steplessly according to variations in wavelength of subject light.

  • Patent number: 6675711
Abstract: A receiving guide is attached to an upper portion of a discharge mechanism section via a bracket. When a photopolymer plate is discharged from a photopolymer plate conveying section, a leading end portion of the photopolymer plate, which is in a state of hanging down slightly, abuts a flat plate portion of the receiving guide. Thereafter, the receiving guide moves in accordance with movement of the leading end portion of the photopolymer plate. Further, the receiving guide moves forward in a conveying direction of the photopolymer plate immediately before conveying of the photopolymer plate is completed, and the photopolymer plate lands on the surface plate.

  • Patent number: 6676267
Abstract: A mirror support structure includes a mirror holder and a detachably attachable single unit which, when attached to the mirror holder after a mirror has been inserted in the mirror holder, applies bias forces to the mirror. The bias forces are applied so as to press against a front surface of the mirror in the vicinities of the two fixed points and the adjustable point, which tilts the mirror, so that the back surface of the mirror touches the two fixed points and the adjustable point. The single unit includes flexible parts, which apply bias forces to the front surface of the mirror in the vicinities of the two fixed points, and a flexible part which applies a bias force, that is less than the bias forces applied in the vicinities of the two fixed points, to the front surface of the mirror in the vicinity of the adjustable point.

  • Patent number: 6678565
Abstract: The control unit sets up the center and an insensitive zone of a zoom seesaw switch provided in a drive unit of an ENG lens by an electrical processing. The control unit is capable of dispensing with a mechanical adjustment of the center and the insensitive zone of the zoom seesaw switch in assembling the product, and the assembly of the product is thus simplified. On turning on a center setting switch while the zoom seesaw switch is released from the operation, an operational position of the zoom seesaw switch at that time is accurately set as the center that brings the moving rapidity of the zoom lens to zero. On setting an insensitive zone size by an insensitive zone setup device, the moving rapidity of the zoom lens becomes zero whenever the operational position of the zoom seesaw switch is within the insensitive zone. Any of these settings is carried out by a processing of a CPU.

  • Patent number: 6674581
Abstract: A zoom lens having only four lens groups is disclosed. In order from the object side, these are: a first lens group having positive refractive power, a second lens group having negative refractive power that moves for zooming, a third lens group having negative refractive power that moves for correcting a shift in the image surface position when zooming, and a fourth lens group having positive refractive power and formed of front and rear subgroups, with the rear subgroup consisting of a single positive lens element that moves to correct for different back focus lengths that are required when the zoom lens is used in different television cameras. Various conditions are preferably satisfied in order to maintain favorable correction of spherical aberration and astigmatism even when the back focus of the zoom lens is adjusted slightly so as to compensate for manufacturing tolerances.

  • Patent number: 6674476
Abstract: A housing for a TV camera has an automatic wiping mode for automatically driving a wiper, which is provided at a front window of the housing, at predetermined time intervals. The execution of the automatic wiping mode while the TV camera is unused prevents a large amount of snow and frost, etc. from adhering to the front window. The wiper and two nozzles of a window-washing device for jetting a washing liquid are provided on the front window of the housing in a pan/tilt head. If the pan/tilt head is set to the automatic wiping mode, the wiper and the window-washing device automatically operate at predetermined time intervals. This prevents the snow and the frost from adhering to the front window while the pan/tilt head is not operated, e.g., at night. Thus, the shooting can be begun quickly when the need arises.
