  • Publication number: 20100178438
Abstract: Provided is a shrinkable label having a hologram layer that suffers no whitening even after shrink processing with relatively large shrinkage. The label therefore fits even complicated dimensions of an article and, in addition, provides a superior holographic expression. The shrinkable label includes a shrinkable film and, on or above at least one side thereof, a hologram layer. The hologram layer is formed by curing a resin composition which is cationically curable by the action of an active energy ray and which contains one or more oxetane compounds including a monofunctional oxetane compound, and one or more bifunctional or higher-functional epoxy compounds. In the resin composition, the total of the oxetane compounds and the bifunctional or higher-functional epoxy compounds occupies 60 percent by weight or more of the resin composition, and the monofunctional oxetane compound occupies 30 percent by weight or more of the oxetane compounds.

The label therefore fits even complicated dimensions of an article and, in addition, provides a superior holographic expression. The shrinkable label includes a shrinkable film and a hologram layer present on or above at least one side of the shrinkable film. The hologram layer has been formed by curing a radically curable resin composition by the action of an active energy ray. The resin composition contains 45 to 95 percent by weight of an acrylic monomer and 5 to 55 percent by weight of a bifunctional or higher-functional urethane acrylate, based on the total amount of the acrylic monomer and the bifunctional or higher-functional urethane acrylate.

  • Publication number: 20100093507
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for forming sleeve-like foil envelopes from a continuous flat strip of a sleeve-like foil material, comprising supply means (12) for supplying the continuous flat strip of sleeve-like foil material (1), cutting means for making a cut in this strip of sleeve-like foil material over the full width thereof so as to obtain the individual sleeve-like foil envelopes, as well as discharge means (20a-20b) for discharging the individual sleeve-like foil envelopes from the device. The device of the invention is characterised in that the device comprises rotational element means (20?) arranged for imparting a rotary motion during operation to the sleeve-like envelope to be discharged from the device. By imparting a rotary motion to an individually formed sleeve-like foil envelope while it is being discharged from the device it is achieved that the foil envelope will remain open, making it possible to place the envelope round a container in a simple and effective manner.

Abstract: A spout mounting method and a spout that enable smooth and high-speed mounting of the spout onto a pouch. The method includes an insertion step of inserting the spout (S) into the pouch (P) so that a mounting portion (IP) of the spout (S) is held between not-yet-sealed opening edges, a temporary fixation step of temporarily fixing the spout (S), inserted in the pouch (P), to the pouch (P), and a sealing step of fixing the mounting portion (IP) of the spout (S), temporarily fixed to the pouch (P), to the opening edges of the pouch (P) by heat-sealing. In the temporary fixation step, the opening edges of the pouch (P) are fixed together by spot-sealing near edges on both sides of the mounting portion (IP) of the spout (S) so that the spout (S) is held by the opening edges of the pouch (P).

  • Publication number: 20090136759
Abstract: Disclosed is an active energy ray-curable resin the composition for plastic films which contains an oxetane compound, an epoxy compound, and at least one silicone compound selected from epoxy-modified silicones, fluorine-modified silicones, amino-modified silicones, (meth)acrylic-modified silicones, and polyether-modified silicones. The resin the composition has excellent printability such as gravure printability and flexographic printability and cures rapidly to attain high productivity. After curing, it gives a cured layer which excels in adhesion to the plastic base film and in toughness and has good recoatability. A plastic label using the resin the composition excels in surface scratch resistance and crumpling resistance. This label is hence useful especially as a label to be applied to plastic containers, metallic containers such as bottle cans.
