Abstract: An information processing device includes a display and a controller. The display displays a setting screen containing a display element representing a setting item. The controller exerts control in such a manner that, in the case where a service is not introduced in the information processing device, the display element is displayed in a first manner, and exerts control in such a manner that, in the case where a service is introduced in the information processing device and where the setting item is not a setting item to be set for use of the service, the display element is displayed in a second manner. The second manner is different from the first manner.
Abstract: The light-emitting device includes: a setting unit switching a potential difference between anode and cathode electrodes alternately between first and second potential differences so that light-emitting thyristors are caused to have one of the first and second potential differences in common; a specifying unit sequentially specifying, as a target for controlling, one light-emitting thyristor; a supply unit alternately supplying transition voltage for causing specified light-emitting thyristor to transition from the off state to the on state and maintaining voltage for keeping the thyristor being in the off state to a gate electrode of the thyristor, in a light-emission control period during which the specifying unit specifies the target and the setting unit sets the second potential difference; and an adjusting unit that adjusts a light-emitting period of the one light-emitting thyristor by supplying the maintaining voltage and stopping supplying the voltage at a variable timing, in the light-emission control
Abstract: The invention provides a fixing method including conveying a recording medium on which a toner image has been formed using a fixing belt, in a state in which the fixing belt contacts with a surface of the recording medium on which the toner image is formed, at least from a fixing portion in which the toner image is fixed by heating and pressing the recording medium to a cooling portion in which the recording medium after fixing is cooled, wherein the ten-point average roughness (Rz) of a surface of the fixing belt contacting with the recording medium is 0.7 ?m or less or the filtered maximum waviness in every convex portion present on a surface of the fixing belt contacting with the recording medium is 50 ?m or less. The invention also provides a fixing apparatus using the method and an image forming apparatus using the method.
Abstract: An ink jet recording head includes an ink supply system, and a plurality of pressure chambers each including a nozzle for ejecting an ink droplet. The ink supply system has a flow resistance r satisfying the following relationship:
r<800/(q·N·f)
wherein q, N and f represent the droplet volume ejected from each nozzle, number of pressure chambers, and the ejection frequency, respectively. The ink jet recording head achieves a stable simultaneous ejection from all the nozzles at a higher frequency and for an ink having a higher viscosity.
Abstract: The ink-jet recording method and apparatus use an ink containing at least, a pigment self-dispersible in water, a water soluble organic solvent and water, and carry out printing with an amount of the ink of 20 ng or less per one droplet, and the ink satisfies the following conditions: a dynamic contact angle upon dropping 4 &mgr;L of the ink on plain paper is about 60° or less after one second from dropping; a volume average particle diameter mv of dispersed particles of the pigment in the ink is about from 150 to 250 nm; and in the dispersed particles, a number of particles having a particle diameter of from 0.5 to 5 &mgr;m is about from 25×104 to 2,000×104 per microliter, and a number of particles having a particle diameter of 5 &mgr;m or more is about 100 per microliter or less.
Abstract: An electronic apparatus at least has a structure in which plural kinds of dictionary cards, such as Japanese-English, Japanese-Japanese, Chinese characters and the like, are mounted all together. In this electronic dictionary apparatus, in accordance with the input of a header entry for dictionary retrieval via input means, such as a keyboard and the like, a sequential inquiry according to the header entry is performed for all dictionary cards connected to a bus line for automatic retrieval of possible dictionary data corresponding to the input header entry among the plural dictionary cards, dictionary data corresponding to the input header entry are sequentially specified, and all the specified dictionary data are visually displayed on a proper display unit. This electronic dictionary apparatus includes capability for storing identifying information transferred from the connected dictionary cards in table-format, enabling retrieval of passible dictionary data corresponding to the input header entry.
