  • Patent number: 8075076
Abstract: A signal processing apparatus has a first circuit board having a digital/analog converter, a second circuit board having an operational amplifier, a connector connecting the first circuit board and the second circuit board, a transmitter on the first circuit board, and a controller on the second circuit board. The digital/analog converter converts, to an analog signal, a digital signal as a reference of a voltage to be applied to a capacitive load and outputs the analog signal. The operational amplifier is connected to the capacitive load at an output terminal thereof via a switching element, and amplifies the voltage of the analog signal to output. The transmitter transmits a predetermined signal to the second circuit board via the connector. The controller prevents the voltage of the analog signal from being applied to the capacitive load when the predetermined signal is not received in the second circuit board.

  • Patent number: 8031261
Abstract: An image pickup apparatus detects a face region out of an image signal representative of a field picked up by an image pickup device, and compares the lightness of the face region or a person region with the lightness of a background region also included in the image signal to thereby determine whether or not a subject is backlit. The apparatus causes, if the subject is backlit, the image pickup apparatus to execute actual pickup with backlight correction.

  • Publication number: 20100108514
Abstract: To suppress temperature variations of sample fluids within flow channels for electrophoresis, in a method for controlling temperatures within micro flow channels. When controlling the temperatures of sample fluids within micro flow channels of electrophoresis chips, in which flow channels through which electrophoresis occurs by application of electrical potential differences can be switched, temperature variations of the sample fluids within the micro flow channels, caused by differences in heat generated by the sample fluids prior to and following the switching of the flow channels, are predicted. Control properties for temperature control in order to cancel the temperature variations are changed during the switching of the flow channels.
