Patent number: 5429008Abstract: A method for measuring figure of deflection of a golf club shaft, including the steps of horizontally orienting the golf club shaft along an x-axis and fixing a grip end of the golf club shaft to form a cantilever, deflecting the golf club by applying a predetermined load at points on the golf club shaft located on the side of the shaft near the free end thereof to form a deflection curve of the golf club shaft, and obtaining the location of an intersection point of a tangent of the deflection curve and the x axis. The tangent is obtained at the load applying point or in the vicinity of the load applying point on the free end side of the golf club shaft. The method further includes the step of determining a distance between the intersection point and a specific point on the golf club shaft to obtain a parameter which represents the figure of deflection of the golf club shaft.Type: GrantFiled: February 25, 1993Date of Patent: July 4, 1995Assignee: Fujikura Rubber Ltd.Inventors: Norio Matsumoto, Koichi Kameoka

Patent number: 5294481Abstract: A printing blanket including a base fabric and a surface layer in a laminated structure wherein a surface reforming agent containing a perfluoroalkyl group is applied to the surface layer such that a critical surface tension ranging from 10 to 16 dyn/cm appears on the surface of the surface layer is disclosed. To practically manufacture a printing blanket of the foregoing type, there is also disclosed a method wherein a compressible layer is placed on a base fabric, a surface layer is then placed on the compressible layer thereby to form a laminated structure with the base fabric and the compressible layer, and thereafter, a surface modifier containing a perfluoroalkyl group is applied to the surface layer such that a critical surface tension ranging from 10 to 16 dyne/cm appears on the surface of the surface layer. It is preferable that the surface layer is molded of a compound based on a nitrile butadiene rubber.Type: GrantFiled: December 27, 1991Date of Patent: March 15, 1994Assignee: Fujikura Rubber Ltd.Inventors: Takato Nakamura, Takao Kawata, Tsukasa Fukuma, Yasunobu Kobayashi

Patent number: 5290972Abstract: A stylus pen for use as a computer input device includes a pen holder with an associated tip, a chamber defined in the pen holder and filled with a non-compressible fluid, a pressure sensor having a pressure receiving surface that detects pressure in the chamber, and a means for converting a mechanical force applied to the tip to a change in pressure of the non-compressible fluid enclosed in the chamber. In the use of the pen a mechanical force applied to the tip changes the pressure of the non-compressible fluid; and this pressure change is detected by the pressure sensor to produce a change in the output signal from the sensor usable as a computer input.Type: GrantFiled: January 26, 1993Date of Patent: March 1, 1994Assignee: Fujikura Rubber Ltd.Inventors: Hisao Someya, Mitsunori Hoshi, Takashi Ejiri, Takashi Takizawa, Ryoji Nagano

Patent number: 4903939Abstract: A pneumatically-operated valve in which a valve actuator is formed of two separate parts: a driving member having a plurality of sealed pistons fixed to a piston rod in series to be operated by air pressure, and a valve operating member which comes into contact with a clean fluid and which does not have any soft substances such as O-rings which are likely to be impaired by ultrasonic cleaning. The valve facilitates the cleaning of the members during the process of manufacture and furthermore can provide a great deal of output for its size without contaminating the clean fluid during use.Type: GrantFiled: April 24, 1989Date of Patent: February 27, 1990Assignee: Fujikura Rubber, Ltd.Inventors: Ryozo Ariizumi, Masakuni Kainuma, Toshikazu Aoki, Shoji Suda, Mitsunori Hoshi, Takashi Ejiri

Patent number: 4875500Abstract: A pilot operated directional control valve having a diaphragm held between a passage block which has a feeding port, at least one loading port and at least one discharge port, and an opposed control block which has pilot pressure passages. The ports of the passage block open into the end face of the passage block adjacent to the control block through respective fluid passages. The pilot pressure is exerted on the diaphragm by the pilot pressure passages to control the fluid connection between the ports of the passage block. The fluid passages are located in a concentric arrangement. The diaphragm has a center valve portion with an annular valve portion therearound. The two valve portions can be independently controlled by the pilot pressure acting thereon to control the fluid connection between the two adjacent fluid passages.Type: GrantFiled: March 16, 1988Date of Patent: October 24, 1989Assignee: Fujikura Rubber Ltd.Inventors: Ryozo Ariizumi, Masakuni Kainuma, Shoji Suda, Toshikazu Aoki, Takashi Ejiri, Masao Kojima, Mitsunori Hoshi

Patent number: 4821776Abstract: An air pilot operated directional control valve for selectively connecting a normally open port to two selection ports, by an axial movement of a plunger with valve seats which are adapted to selectively close the axial open ends of the selection ports. The valve has diaphragms which define therebetween a control chamber in which the selection ports and the normally open port open. The plunger is continuously biased by a spring in one direction. The valve also has a pilot pressure chamber which is defined by one of the diaphragms, so that when the pilot pressure exceeds a predetermined value, the plunger moves in the axial direction against the spring to switch the connection between the normally open port and the selection ports.Type: GrantFiled: January 27, 1987Date of Patent: April 18, 1989Assignee: Fujikura Rubber LtdInventors: Rozo Ariizumi, Masakuni Kainuma
