  • Patent number: 7684124
Abstract: An optical unit includes one or more optical elements. At least one 40 of the optical elements has: an optical functional surface, that refracts incident light, within an effective diameter; and a rough surface 49 formed on an optical functional surface 42b that is formed outside the effective diameter and that scatters the incident light which has been internally reflected. With this configuration, light which is incident on the optical element and which may generate flare or the like when it is internally reflected by the optical functional surface outside the effective diameter is scattered by the rough surface formed on the optical functional surface outside the effective diameter. Therefore, generation of the flare or the like is suppressed. Also, since the optical unit is constituted by such an optical element having the rough surface, generation of the flare or the like is suppressed.

  • Patent number: 7683960
Abstract: An imaging portion of an imaging apparatus according to the present invention has a cover glass adhered by an adhesive to an imaging surface side of a CCD in a state of sandwiching leads (adhesion area B1), and has a slight airtight air gap formed on the imaging surface side of the CCD so as to render a circumference of the cover glass larger than the CCD. As for a circuit board, a concave portion for accommodating the CCD is formed, and a periphery of the cover glass is adhered to a top surface of the circuit board by the adhesive (adhesion area B2). Thus, the air gap is doubly sealed so that its airtightness is improved and influence of temperature change is reduced so as to prevent condensation on a back side of the cover glass and so on.

  • Patent number: 7680014
Abstract: An objective optical system is formed of a diffractive optical element with a diffractive surface formed on a virtual plane and an objective lens for focusing three collimated light beams of three different wavelengths at three different numerical apertures onto desired positions of three different recording media with substrates that include different thicknesses, such as an AOD, a DVD, and a CD, that introduce different amounts of spherical aberration in the focused beams. The objective optical system provides compensating spherical aberration to the three light beams by varying the distance between the diffractive optical element and the objective lens with the recording medium being used. The objective optical system focuses second-order diffracted light of one wavelength and first-order diffracted light of the other two wavelengths. An optical pickup device includes the objective optical system, the recording media, and a light source that provides the three light beams.
