  • Patent number: 9414751
Abstract: An image processing apparatus according to an embodiment includes an acquiring unit, a correcting unit, and a perfusion image creating unit. The acquiring unit obtains a pixel value of a myocardium tissue and an arterial blood before a contrast agent injected in a second contrast examination arrives at a cardiac of a subject when myocardium perfusion data is created, by performing the second contrast examination that captures a second medical image group including the cardiac of the subject who is given an injection of a contrast agent again after a first contrast examination that captures a first medical image group. The correcting unit corrects contrast agent concentrations of an arterial blood and a myocardium tissue in the second medical image group using acquired each pixel value. The perfusion image creating unit computes the myocardium perfusion data in the second contrast examination based on the corrected contrast agent concentrations.

  • Publication number: 20140086927
Abstract: Antibodies (Abs) play roles in protection against influenza. Neutralizing Abs either inhibit the binding of hemagglutinin (HA) to cellular receptors or prevent the conformational change of HA induced by low pH. The former Ab binds to the regions near the sialic acid-binding pocket on the globular head formed by HA1 and generally shows narrow strain specificity. The latter Ab binds to the stem region formed mainly by HA2 and shows broad strain specificity. We isolated a broadly neutralizing Ab against H3N2 viruses. X-ray analysis of the HA/Ab complex indicated that the Ab binds to the valley formed by two neighboring HA monomers at the side of the globular head. The Ab shows neutralizing activity by preventing the conformational change of HA induced at low pH.
