Abstract: In a permanent magnet rotor type electric motor in which a permanent magnet is embedded in a rotor, a permanent magnet used for a magnetic pole of one polarity in a rotor core and another permanent magnet used for a magnetic pole of the other polarity have different configurations and materials from each other, so that the selecting range for the magnetic flux density and the reluctance torque of the permanent magnet rotor type electric motor can be increased.
Abstract: In a ceiling-mounted-in type of air conditioner, the assembling operability is improved with the number of parts of a wind directing plate driving portion being reduced. A motor and a cam gear can be previously assembled and attached in a motor cover in order to reduce the thickness of a front panel, thereby allowing easy placement of a wind directing plate driving device on a front panel 3 only by mounting the motor cover on the front panel.
Abstract: In an error diffusion processing unit to get a false half tone diffusing in the surroundings the luminance error between the original picture element signal quantizedly input and the preceding data, one dot of said signal is converted into plural picture elements. The respective picture elements (pixels) thus converted are compared with the prior data to detect the luminance error, which will then be weighted by multiplying it with certain coefficient to give, for instance, the reproduced error in one line past, that in one dot past and further the reproduced error a in one-line and one-dot past, which will respectively be added to the original pixels. Producing a false tone by error variance in unit of pixel enables to display the half tone without expanding the half tone display area beyond required dot number.
Abstract: In a display device in which each group of plural drive elements takes charge of the drive of plural picture elements (pixels) and the display luminance changes as the number of sustaining pulses changes that are supplied to a plasma display panel, a constant emission luminance characteristic is maintained by increasing the number of sustaining pulses for a larger load when the display load factor is large, and decreasing the number of sustaining pulses for a smaller load when the display load factor is small. When displaying a multi-tone image by a subfield drive method, a display area detect circuit allows the display of an image with constant luminance characteristic despite the variation of the display load factor, and prevents the deterioration of tone characteristic due to the subfield drive method, and further, a half tone display circuit allows the decrease of the bit number thereby simplifying the configuration of the display area detect circuit.
Abstract: In an electric motor, such as a DC brushless motor or the like, having a permanent magnet in a rotor, each magnetic pole is formed of three permanent magnets, and the permanent magnets are made of at least two kinds of magnetic materials represented by ferrite magnet and rare-earth magnet. Thus, in a permanent magnet rotor type electric motor, a reluctance torque and a magnetic flux density can be selectively established, and cost is reasonable, corresponding to the quality.
Abstract: In a heat pump type air conditioner, a refrigerant ejection port of a compressor in a refrigerating cycle thereof is connected to a refrigerant inflow port of an outdoor heat exchanger via a bypass pipe with a shut-off valve, and temperature sensors detect the temperatures of the refrigerant inflow and runoff port sides of an outdoor heat exchanger. In a heating operation mode, when the temperature of the refrigerant inflow or runoff port side reaches a certain value or lower that requires defrosting, the shut-off valve of the bypass pipe is "opened" to start defrosting using the hot gas bypass defrosting method.
Abstract: A video data output device includes a memory unit which stores video data conforming with a first display mode, and a memory control unit which controls a write operation on the memory unit so that video data is written therein in the first display mode and controls a read operation thereon so that the video data is read at a timing based on the first display mode or a second display mode. Further, the video data output device includes a converter unit which converts the video data read from the memory unit at the timing based on the second display mode into video data conforming with the second display mode.

Abstract: A control device for controlling a plurality of motors of an air conditioner comprises a plurality of power circuits each for supplying a corresponding DC voltage to drive a respective motor. Motor driving circuits, each having a plurality of switches, supply the DC voltage from a corresponding power circuit as an AC voltage to windings of the corresponding motor. A rotational position of each corresponding motor is detected, and a position detecting signal is generated dependent thereon. Switch driving circuits, each receptive of a corresponding driving signal, drives the plurality of switches of each corresponding motor driving circuit. A single microcomputer controls the rotation of each of the plurality of motors by generating the plurality of driving signals.
