Gateway 3 receives packet P1 from caller terminal 1a, and creates and transmits to receiver terminal 1b packet P2, in which destination IP address, source IP address, destination port, source port, and session ID for packet P1 are rewritten. Gateway 3 also receives packet P3 from receiver terminal 1b, and creates and transmits to caller terminal 1a packet P4, in which destination IP address, source IP address, destination port, source port, and session ID for packet P3 are rewritten. Because communications between every terminal are identifiable according to session ID, a plurality of communications through the same port may be supported, which is favorable security-wise.

Abstract: An electromagnetic wave analyzer and program which can handle non-uniform cells with smaller computation errors. A given computational domain is divided into a plurality of cells for the purpose of finite difference approximation. For each space point, a cell size identification unit identifies the uniformity of surrounding cells. When the surrounding cells are identified as being uniform in size, a first calculation unit calculates electromagnetic field components at that space point with a first calculation method. When the surrounding cells are identified as being non-uniform in size, a second calculation unit calculates the same with a second calculation method which has smaller computational errors than the first calculation method. A data output unit then outputs the calculated electromagnetic field values.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for folding continuous medium including a swing arm pivotable about an axis at one end of the swing arm. The continuous medium is guided by the swing arm and accordion-folded with equal widths as a result of the swinging operation of the swing arm. The swing arm has a telescopic structure for varying the length of the swing arm over a range of a swing of the swing arm.

Abstract: A pseudo I/O system and method, which can be configured at low cost and simulates an actual I/O device by making a connection to a device to be tested, is configured by a setting unit defining error contents of a simulation target and setting the contents in a setting file; a receiving unit receiving a command from a device to be tested; a pseudo I/O unit processing the command received by the receiving unit if contents corresponding to the command are set when referencing the setting file, and performing a normal reply process if the contents corresponding to the command are not set; and a transmitting unit returning data after being processed to the device to be tested at a request source.

Abstract: Includes the information search database as a knowledge database storing a plurality of causes, a plurality of questions having the cause-and-effect relation with the plurality of causes, and correlation levels showing a degree of the correlations between the causes and corresponding questions. The search control unit extracts certain questions out of the plurality of questions by the algorithm based on the correlation levels and extracting causes with high correlation levels out of the plurality of causes based on the searcher's answer result to each of the certain questions from the information database, and then presenting the causes thus extracted as the search result.

Abstract: The present invention provides a confidential information management system which allows users to securely obtain confidential information files containing various confidential information, which files are securely stored in the present system, anywhere and anytime, using a minimum of confidential information. A confidential information file and encoding/decoding software are downloaded to an information terminal from a confidential information managing server and an encoding/decoding software managing server, respectively, so that the confidential information file is decoded on the information terminal by using the encoding/decoding software. The present system is applicable to various (computer) systems which store and manage confidential information (ID numbers, passwords, encryption keys, digital certificates, etc.) for use in user verification.

Abstract: A service providing system includes an automated transaction machine (ATM), installed in a nonbank location of a fee recipient entity under a payment-by-results contract with a service provider, a history information obtaining unit for obtaining electronic history information of the ATM, and an ATM placement fee determination unit, operatively connected with the history information obtaining unit, for determining an ATM placement fee, which is to be paid to the fee recipient entity, based on the electronic history information obtained in the history information obtaining unit. In the service providing system, an ATM placement fee is fairly determined based on contribution to the service provider, such as the number of transactions performed on the individual ATM, and the fee recipient entity keenly tries to keep the ATM in proper condition for service.

Abstract: A transportation intermediation apparatus includes a main control section. The main control section causes a consignor to input a transportation condition of a package with a consignor client, shows transportation fees of respective forwarding agents matching with the transportation condition to the consignor, causes the consignor to select a forwarding agent as a transportation assignee from a plurality of forwarding agents, and orders a forwarding agent client of the selected forwarding agent to perform a transportation business through the internet.

Abstract: A communication network switching device is provided between a client and a server as a intermediary mechanism to estimate a traffic and to issue a switching request for communication networks. Two switching devices include units for releasing a session in cooperation with each other and units for resuming the session in cooperation with each other. The client switching device includes a unit for connecting to a communication network to which the communication is to be switched after the session release is complete and for acquiring a new communication address assigned through the connection and a unit for notifying the server switching device of the acquired communication address. The server switching device includes a unit for identifying a server pointed to by a port number specified in a service request to transfer the service request and a unit for acquiring the new communication address acquired by the client switching device.

Abstract: In the first stage, a merging position relationship (a rotation angle, and/or presence/absence of mirror image flipping) between two images is identified by using reduced images, and a rough overlapping region is detected. In the second stage, an exact overlapping position, an inclination, etc. are detected. In the third stage, the two images are merged by using the process results of the first and the second stages.

Abstract: According to the present invention, when an application program on a personal computer executes processing by connecting an external device such as at CD drive, the application program is started and thereafter it is determined whether the external device associated with the application program is fitted with or not. When the external device is not fitted with, the processing is interrupted, and when a fitting of the external device is recognized, the interrupted processing is restarted.

Abstract: In a semiconductor integrated circuit device, a first circuit has a clock generating circuit which generates a clock signal. A second circuit receives the clock signal from the clock generating circuit. The first circuit maintains the clock signal at a fixed frequency when an operating clock frequency of the first circuit is changed to another frequency. The first circuit supplies a control signal and the clock signal to the second circuit so that an operating clock frequency of the second circuit is determined based on a combination of the control signal and the clock signal.

Abstract: In a packet transmission system including host apparatuses and a router which transfers a packet from host apparatuses in a first host group to host apparatuses in a second host group, each host apparatus in the first host group inserts in a packet an IP address and a link-layer address of a destination host apparatus in the second host group before transmitting the packet. When the router receives the packet, the router determines an output port connected to at least one host apparatus in the second host group including the destination host apparatus, based on the IP address of the destination host apparatus inserted in the packet, and transmits the received packet from the determined output port.

Abstract: A method of assisting delivery of useful services that contribute to improvement of people's standard of living. The method starts with providing, via a network, information about paid services to a customer who has signed up for membership with payment of a predetermined fee. A purchase order for one of the paid services is received from the terminal of the customer which is connected to the service delivery support system via the network. The customer's creditworthiness is evaluated, based on the amount of the predetermined fee that has been paid by the customer, thus determining how much on-behalf payment can be offered to the customer in payment for the paid service that the customer has ordered. The customer is notified of the determined amount of on-behalf payment.

To achieve this objective, in a system comprising an object network and a common platform, said object network is hierarchically composed of a data model in which the attribute structure is determined as a template, an object model, a role model and a process model in ascending order from the bottom, and comprises a matching constraint check means for ensuring the security of a system by checking matching constraints attached to a template.

Abstract: In a semiconductor chip, a second power source pad, to which a ground potential is applied, is arranged adjacent to a first power source pad, to which a power source potential is applied, signal pads are arranged adjacent to the second power source pad by the number corresponding to a size of an external part such as a bypass capacitor inserted between power source terminals in an IC chip, and further, a third power source pad, to which the ground potential is applied, is arranged adjacent to the signal pad. The second power source pad or the third power source pad is selected according to the size of the external part, and then, is connected to a lead terminal, to which the ground potential is applied, in an IC chip, thereby providing a power source terminal, to which the ground potential is applied.
