Abstract: An information processing method includes: obtaining, when an operation control in an automatic operation process used for automatically executing an operation control for a plurality of computers is executed, when an error is detected in a first computer among the plurality of computers is executed, first information that indicates the role of the first computer and second information that indicates the configuration of a system to which the first computer belongs; and obtaining case data including a condition that matches or is similar to a condition that includes at least the contents of the operation control, the contents of the error, the role of the first computer indicated by the first information and the configuration of the system to which the first computer belongs which is indicated in the second information.
Abstract: A first node is assigned a first data group, and a second node is assigned a second data group. In addition, the second node manages a backup copy of the first data group. The second node receives, from the first node, a log indicating an instruction executed on a data record belonging to the first data group, and stores the received log in a memory of the second node. The second node writes logs for a plurality of instructions accumulated in the memory into a storage device of the second node different from the memory when a predetermined condition is satisfied.

A storage unit stores management information relating to the reference destination of the management unit area of the logical volume. A control unit releases the physical resource which has been allocated to the management unit area by exchanging the reference destination of the management unit area specified by a release command from a host computer with the reference destination of the management unit area of the other logical volume corresponding to the specified management unit area.
Abstract: A method is provided for detecting an orientation of an optical fiber including a flat surface as a part of a surface of the maintaining member. The method includes directing collimated light to the optical fiber through the flat surface of the maintaining member, receiving reflected light of the collimated light by using an optical sensor device, generating a brightness distribution image according to an output signal from the optical sensor device, identifying a reference point on a brightness distribution line appearing on the generated brightness distribution image, according to a position of the brightness distribution line in relation to a target orientation for the optical fiber, the brightness distribution line detectable on the brightness distribution image in correspondence to the reflected light received by the optical sensor device, and detecting the orientation of the optical fiber according to a coordinate of the reference point on the brightness distribution image.
Abstract: A method is disclosed for authenticating, by a processor that controls a parent device, a child device includes: authenticating the child device by making a comparison between a value obtained by operating, for a first response value, a third transform function, which is decided based on a number of a difference between the value set in an authentication chip of the parent device and the value set in an authentication chip of the child device, and the second response value, wherein a first and a second response values are obtained by operating a first and a second transform functions for output values generated by operating an encryption function for performing encryption for secret keys in authentication chips of the parent device and the child device, respectively.
