  • Patent number: 4895135
Abstract: A self-heating container is capable of generating heat by hydration of an exothermic rection agent and includes an outer shell, an envelope enclosing the exothermic reaction agent, a water bag filled with water for reaction with the agent, and a container body for containing foodstuff. The container body is formed of a sheet member including a metal foil and a synthetic resin layer attached on at least one side of the metal foil. The sheet member is folded to have a W-shaped cross section and is heat-sealed along the vertical and upper edges. The inverted V-shaped portion of the folded sheet defines a chamber for accommodating the envelope outside the container body.

  • Patent number: 4850138
Abstract: A door for use in a building, which includes a door frame defining an opening, and a louver arranged in the opening of the door frame. The louver includes a plurality of slats aligned parallel to each other. Each of the slats is connected at its opposite ends to the door frame so that the slat is pivoted about an axis generally coincidental with its centerline. The door also includes an adjusting assembly for pivoting the slats, and a connecting member for connecting all the slats. The adjusting assembly includes a rotatable lug member connected to one of the slats so that the slat is pivoted when the lug member is rotated. Due to the connecting member, the slats are simultaneously pivoted in the same direction when one of the slats is pivoted.

  • Patent number: 4773389
Abstract: A self-heating foodstuff container is capable of generating heat by utilizing an exothermic reaction and includes a body having a first chamber for containing a foodstuff and a second chamber for receiving an exothermic reaction agent, and a liquid container including a body portion and a conduit connected to the body portion for discharging the liquid into the second chamber. The body portion is disposed outside of the second chamber and is capable of contracting upon pressure. The container further includes a support member carrying the body portion and slidably mounted with respect to the body in such a manner that the sliding movement of the support member presses the body portion and causes the liquid to discharge through the conduit into the second chamber for initiating the exothermic reaction.
