  • Patent number: 10039005
Abstract: An OFDMA system and method for dynamic allocation of sub-channels for a plurality of base stations. The allocation of frequencies may be performed by first allocating to the base stations a first plurality of sub-channels according to a static allocation, wherein the number of sub-channels allocated to each base station is less than the number of available sub-channels, thereby resulting in available remaining sub-channels for each base station that are not assigned in the static allocation, then, after receiving a request from a base station for increased throughput in the downlink and/or uplink direction, allocating at least one additional sub-channel to the requesting base station from among said remaining sub-channels not in use for static allocation according to a dynamic allocation.

  • Patent number: 8948064
Abstract: A method and apparatus for long range private broadband wireless communication system is provided. The communication system provides bi-directional Point-to-Multipoint (PtMP) data communication between a Network Operating Center (NOC) and many Subscriber Stations (SS) which may be either Mobile Stations (MS) or Fixed Stations (FS) or both. The system infrastructure consists of Base Stations (BSs) which may be located at the PLMR tower sites and backhaul communication infrastructure connecting the BSs to the Network Operating Center (NOC). The system infrastructure at the NOC includes a central router, a Network Management System (NMS) server, a DHCP server, a TOD server, an AAA server and may also include a Base Station Controller (BSC).

  • Patent number: 8619804
Abstract: A system and method for delivery of high speed data services over dedicated and non-dedicated private land mobile radio (PLMR) channels using cognitive radio technology. The PLMR system provides bi-directional Point-to-Multipoint (PtMP) data communication between a dispatch center and many fixed or mobile remote terminals. A plurality of base stations communicate with a base station controller at the dispatch center and a plurality of remote radios communicate with at least one of the remote terminals. PLMR channel scanners, located in each base station and remote radio, scan the PLMR channels to determine which of the PLMR channels is idle at any point of time so that data communication may take place.

  • Patent number: 8098604
Abstract: A system for the delivery of high speed data mission critical, private broadband wireless networks based on a modified version of the ieee802.16e-2005 standard and subsequent versions of this standard referred to, known as “mobile WiMAX”. The system comprises a plurality of base stations, each of said base stations covering at least one sector, which maintain two-way data communication, with a plurality of mobile stations and fixed subscriber stations in its serving area, over licensed frequency bands below 1 GHz in accordance with the mobile WiMAX standard. The mobile WiMAX air interface standard (ieee802.16e) is modified for channel sizes below 1.25 MHz.
