  • Patent number: 7835551
Abstract: A television set allowing a small amount of information to be processed to authenticate at least a portion of a face with high precision, is configured as follows: The television set includes a memory, a camera and a CPU. The memory stores feature information in association with a position. The CPU detects the position of the facial portion of a person in an image. The CPU extracts feature information based on the image. The CPU collates the feature information extracted thereby with that of the feature information stored in the memory which corresponds to the position detected thereby. The CPU selects a channel corresponding to a result of the collation. The television set further includes a tuner and a display. The tuner extracts a broadcast signal of the channel selected by the CPU. The display displays a video image corresponding to the signal extracted by the tuner.

  • Patent number: 7834934
Abstract: When television screen setting is not set and thus a television screen setting completion flag is not set, and a terminals-connection judgment pin takes a low level, an i/p selection screen is initially displayed on a progressive display device. However, the i/p selection screen is not displayed on an interlaced display device. When processing performed for the i/p selection screen is completed, or when the terminals-connection judgment pin takes a high level, indicating that the video input D-terminal of the display device is not connected to the video output D-terminal, an aspect ratio setting screen is displayed. After aspect ratio setting is completed, the television screen setting completion flag is set. This eliminates the need to perform the television screen setting again.

  • Patent number: 7830536
Abstract: In a print system including a printer connected to a plurality of personal computers, the personal computer to which a lock command is inputted by a user outputs an ID code of the personal computer and a lock signal to the printer. The printer memorizes the ID code of the personal computer into a memory and goes into an unprintable state. When a lock release command is inputted to the personal computer, it outputs the ID code and a lock release signal to the printer. When the received ID code coincides with the ID code memorized in the memory, the printer goes into a printable state and accepts an image data outputted from the personal computer and performs a printing operation using the image data. Thus, the print system can prevent that the image is printed on an undesirable recording paper sheet for the user.

  • Patent number: 7830642
Abstract: A disc apparatus which can judge accurately whether or not a spindle motor is at fault due to a short circuit is provided. A disc apparatus (1) includes a spindle motor (3) which rotates a disc (2), a differential operational amplifier (5) which successively detects output voltages of the spindle motor (3), and a failure judgment unit (10) which calculates an average voltage of the plural output voltages and judges whether or not the spindle motor (3) is at fault in accordance with the average voltage and the output voltages. When counting number of occurrences of a specific state which indicates that one of the two output voltages detected successively is larger than the average voltage and other of the two output voltages is smaller than the average voltage, the failure judgment unit (10) judges that the spindle motor (3) is at fault.

  • Publication number: 20100270138
Abstract: When the assembly is complete, the protrusion 2e of the leaf spring 2b abuts against the bottom wall surface 3g which is an inner bottom surface of the cover member 3 and the leaf spring 2b is bent. Since the protrusion is pushed against the cover member 3, the leaf spring 2b generates force of repulsion which pushes the frame member 2f toward the opposite direction of the cover member 3. In addition, since the leaf springs 2b are aligned straightly between three bosses 3b, the leaf spring 2b pushes the push button 2 toward the switch board 1 almost in parallel. In other words, if the push button 2 is held in the cover member 3, without further components, the push button 2 is pushed against the switch board 1 and there will not be a possibility of a wobble.
